Cameo's "Honey"..... this song is a joke.....right? Somebody please tell me that this song was a joke making fun of artists who repeat themselves.
Please tell me that. That would also explain why it's only 2 minutes long.

Not familiar with the song, so I can't say. But Cameo are/were notorious for their tongue-in-cheek statements, so maybe.

Well for the record they did the same thing with You Make Me Work and Pretty Girls as a replay of Word Up but make no mistake the Machismo had some deep songs on it to make you forget about the Honey mishap and the Word Up replays. Skin I'm In is probably the best post Single Life track they recorded. Also I like the World, Soul Tightened, and a track with Miles Davis In The Night. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Pretty Girls and You Make Me Work resemble "Word Up" a little bit, for sure.
But "Honey" isn't just a song that sounds a bit like "Candy". It's basically exactly the same song so it's gotta be a joke.
"Pretty Girls" is one of my favorite Cameo songs ever. That bassline is just tight as hell. |

Similiarly, their 1983 single "Style" sounds just like "Be Yourself" .

Yeah that's a good one too. I deeply dig though the new boundaries they were exploring during "Alligator Woman", "Style" and "She's Strange".
