Freddie Mercury "The Great Pretender"

Was already a great song of course, but I've been hearing Freddie's version again quite alot recently. You really feel like he knows the song, if you know what I mean.

Freddie's vocals are quite understated (for him), but when the productio builds up for the final chorus, (around the 2:05 mark), wow! Thats the Freddie we all love.

Great version.

A fantastic song, Freddie's kind of musical coming out, easily the campest song he ever made and one of the greatest covers of a Platters Song anywhere. What I love about it, is its clear he was having a lot of fun doing it.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

I loved that the video included Freddie & Roger Taylor (Queen's drummer) together singing in drag. sexy biggrin

First concert i attended was the 'Hot Space' Tour in Milton Keynes in 1982, when i was 12. I remember them coming out to 'Flash'. Awesome performer.

The only Freddie songs from his solo projects that I like are Living On My Own and Barcelona...

I never like Freddie without Queen, or Queen without him for that matter.

Exactly, that Paul Rodgers + Brian May/R.Taylor ("Queen") project was a travesty...
