Jermaine Jackson and Whitney Houston "Shock me"

Great song. Love the cheesy electricity effects on the chorus, and the interplay, inparticular on the bridge " my baby......you know what we're dreaming of (dreaming of)" is great fun. They actually seemed to have abit of chemistry LOL.

Great OST, great singers, and great producer (Michael Omartian). Fun stuff.

I love that soundtrack. I've searched and searched for it, and finally found it just a couple of weeks ago. It's cool you brought it up. The title track alone is worth the cost.

The Jermaine/Whitney duet isn't bad at all. It's firmly rooted in the mid-80's (1985), and rightly so. I think it's an often overlooked compilation of good pop tunes from that time period.

Released as a 12" vinyl record, re-released on CD.

Side A:

  1. (Closest Thing To) Perfect - Jermaine Jackson (3:50)
  2. I Sweat (Going Through The Motions) - Nona Hendryx (3:54)
  3. All Systems Go - Pointer Sisters (3:48)
  4. Shock Me - Jermaine Jackson & Whitney Houston (5:08)
  5. Wham Rap! (Enjoy What You Do) - Wham! (4:43)

Side B:

  1. Wear Out The Grooves - Jermaine Stewart (4:43)
  2. Hot Hips - Lou Reed (3:33)
  3. Talking To The Wall - Dan Hartman (3:59)
  4. Masquerade - Berlin (3:48)
  5. Lay Your Hands On Me - Thompson Twins (4:11)

Oh OK, after seeing those titties, that sure as hell ain't Shitney. Although, I would love to see Shitney switch places with Jamie and play her role in "Halloween". evillol

I love this track. The movie "Perfect" is chock full of hot 80s tunes. I always make sure to watch the end credits for Jermaine's "(Closet Thing to) Perfect," and that hot scene during the movie with all the crotch gyrating with "Shock Me." Here's the "Perfect" video...

I always loved when videos incorporated the movie into them. Not clips, but rather had the actors get involved. That song never gets old for me.

You know when you were a kid, read comics and occasionally Super-villians like the Joker and Lex Luthor teamed up to fuck up Batmans day and put the fear of God into you?

This is exactly like that.

I got this soundtrack on vinyl from someone else's collection who I presume had it because of Jermaine Jackson.

hmmm Actually I think it was that "Perfect" song.

Well, I'm one here who actually likes this track. Classic...no. But enjoyable for the time.

I searched for many many years for this soundtrack and I randomly found it in a box that was literally two doors down from my office that I had worked in for 8 years. I almost fainted when I saw it. The company was shutting down so I helped myself to it. wink

I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Yeah its a great OST. I bought it on CD years ago pre youtube and luckily the gamble paid off LOL.

The exclusives you get on the CD are great mid 80's pop songs. The 2 Jermaine Jackson cuts are decent (producer Michael Omartian did some great work with Jermaine), as is jermaine Stewarts "Wear out the groove". Other exclusive that I quite like is Lou Reeds "Hot hips". It's slight but I love the fruity bass playing on it (I presume it must be Fernando Saunders who is a wicked bass player-the booklet doesn't tell you). Wish his bass was higher in the mix.

When I originally bought the OST, I was most looking forward to Dan Hartman's exclusive "Talking to the wall". His soundtrack ratio is almost second to none for me. "I can dream about you" "Fletch" "Waiting to see you" "(thats your) conciousness"....but the track is merely average. Not bad, just average. It has grown on me though.

I know it's not an exclusive, but It's also cool for me to own one of the few Wham! songs I actually like. It's funny to hear George rap about being on the dole (a very English term). It's an interesting lyric for a uptempo fun pop song thats for sure.

Not a really weak track on it really.
