Yeah, it sounds like a sequel to Usher's song. I love it tbh.

She doesn't have a pleasant enough vocal tone to be wailing that chorus like she thinks she's Aretha

Actually, I started off kinda liking it; it suits her voice and the track reminds me of Plastikman/Richie Hawtin. Could have done a bit more with the bass synth. Very generic lead synth. I like the first two verses, but it sounds like somebody ran out of ideas from the third verse to the end. Her singing almost a cappella in the chorus might have been a better idea if it wasn't for those same old Triton 'stadium' lead synth lines that have been done over and over again. The bridge to the last chorus should be one of the hottest parts of the track and it's not. A bit too much Autotune for my tastes, but what would a Rihanna track be without that?

Not sure if I'd want to see her perform this live.

I find it funny how this type of a mix of pop and trance didn't became popular until now in the states. This is the type of music that was on European charts almost a decade ago. They've just added a more of a R&B-ish flavour to the vocals and apparently pushed it over to the radios and clubs as the "new sound".

She's like a conveyerbelt of music. Never stops coming out. Can someone please switch off the machine?

I could only find slowed down or sped up versions myself.

It seems like it's some sort of silly attempt to tackle copyright control - as if varying the speed would make it a different song altogether.

I'm not a big fan of Rihanna but I actually like this song Loving the beat and I think it suits her voice well. Much better than when she attempts ballads
