Records? I dig.

Live? I pass.

I really haven't heard his records but I felt like I needed some mouthwash after hearing him sing live on TV

The dude flat out CAN'T sing live. Performance is lacking also and has ZERO stage presence.

He is just as talented if not more than his famous father Alan Thicke from the hit tv show "Growing Pains"....

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

HAHA that is not saying much, though he did co-write the song from Facts of Life

I think he's very talented. His first album A Beautiful World has some great tracks. When I Get You Alone is still a favorite of mine.

He is what he is. It's not like he's making himself out to be the greatest "anything". I like his music. I own it all. From meeting him several times, he is a nice person who appreciates his fans. I think he is talented and it does not matter to me if that is not the general concensus.

I actually liked bike messenger, dirty hair "When I Get You Alone" Thicke when I discovered his first CD in a bin of CD's nobody wanted at my old job. LOVED HIM. After they tried to clean him up, make him the new Jon B, and gave him that "white boy that will appeal to Black" women thing and had his non rhythm having ass dancing in that Magic video and then the remix with that cat screeching Mary J I'm done. Womp womp.

I like his voice on record. He needs to work on getting it right when he performs live.

Also, he's mired in a contemporary urban r&b sound. He occasionally trascends it or uses it to his advantage, but his talent is largely wasted with bland production.

So I guess I like him in theory but the execution doesn't do much for me on the whole.

He bought into his own hype. He could have been the next TTD and instead he turned himself into the next Michael Bolton.

I don't see either comparison lol He's not talented enough to follow in TTD's footsteps, and he's not MOR enough to be the next Michael.

He started off just as quirky as TTD and ended up letting the sap take over his career. I stand by my statement. lol

Just purchased When I Get You Alone. Plan on listening to a few more snippets. Haven't really listened to him. I rarely listen to the radio. Like the song I bought though:)

Other Songs I like from A Beautiful World:

Oh Shooter - his album version doesn't include Weezy but the version "Shooter" on Wanye's CD isn't too bad. Not that I'm a fan of Wanye but it's not a bad version of the song.

I can't find the one w/o Wayne so this one will have to do.

The Stupid Things... beautiful.

Also Lazy Bones, Brand New Jones and Im A Be Alright.

His first album seemed more HIM, and less like some product the record company tried to make him, you know?

I think once folks at his record company found out he had a Black wife they were like OOHHH!!! Black women are gonna LOVE this guy! Then the transformation began.

'Sex Therapy' was really disappointing.Hopefully, the next CD will be a return to his retro-R&B sound.
