The Isley Brothers - It's Your Thing

(I have debated about this for a while because a few years ago I would've said "Shout", then some time after that it would've been "For the Love of You" or "Between the Sheets" lol)

Was that big in the US? In Europe it would be 'I feel love'.

#3 on the Hot 100 in 1978, a Grammy and Oscar winner... and the song she often closes her shows with unless she's doing encores.

Thanks for the info.

I've just listened to it.. and well.. it's just not my thing.

Understandably, at the height of punk, it only managed to reach no. 51 in the UK, but it did mystifyingly well in other markets.

Disco was huge in other European countries, which could explain why lol then again, some disco songs were huge in the UK around the time "Last Dance" came out so idk lol

It really is, but I gave the edge to "I'll Make Love to You" because "II" was a really huge album.

I took a TLC greatest hits CD into work this summer, and everyone was scanning until they saw "Waterfalls". They really did not know another TLC song. I was like, "Really? No Scrubs even?"

The only song by TLC I hear on the radio anymore is "Waterfalls".

The only TLC song that appears on the best of the nineties compilations is... "Waterfalls".

I don't think "When Doves Cry" is Prince's most famous song. It might have been his biggest hit in the US, but other songs have become more popular over the years.

Well, it wasn't none of that mess he maded in the 90's lol

If it wasn't for "Doves", I think "1999" or "Little Red Corvette" would've fitted.

The mainstream knew those 2 as well.

But "Doves" got him over to pop superstardom status biggrin

Prince has many popular songs, but we're naming the song that the artist is most known for - Doves was it for Prince because it brought him mainstream success and raised him to pop superstar status. In fact, many of the artists we list have other popular songs, but there's always that one song that took them to commercial success.
