1986's "Someone Like You" is, without question, one of the most tenderly vulnerable songs he's ever committed to wax. Try listening to it without getting lost in the pathos. | |

I think he is most definitely overlooked/underrated as a songwriter and singer, but that doesn't make him one of the "all time greats" IMO.
I guess that also depends on what you mean by all time greats. If that means best 100 singer/songwriters, sure he's probably on the list. Top 20, he's not on mine....
