I loooove his voice. One of the best blue eyed soul singers ever

1986's "Someone Like You" is, without question, one of the most tenderly vulnerable songs he's ever committed to wax. Try listening to it without getting lost in the pathos.

I think he is most definitely overlooked/underrated as a songwriter and singer, but that doesn't make him one of the "all time greats" IMO.

I guess that also depends on what you mean by all time greats. If that means best 100 singer/songwriters, sure he's probably on the list. Top 20, he's not on mine....

Easily and often they are not looked upon for their Singer Songwriter work in the 70's which shows alot of the inner strength of that group
