The benefit concert that New York University did in tribute to him (featuring Billy Porter, Kevin Aviance and Miss Martha Wash) was also outstanding!

Good looking, an ex DJ, and a Sylvester fan too? You just keep getting better and better.

A good friend of mine who died a few years ago read the book while he was in the hospital and said he loved it. I kept telling him that he needed to get well so I could borrow the book when he finished it (my way of cheering him up) but he didn't make it. From what he was telling me, it was a very interesting book though. I didn't ask any details though because he was so sick but for hm to enjoy the book that much, Sylvester must have been one wild motherfucker.

Yeah, it's a fun read and I'm glad somebody paid him the respect he was due. People might call him wild, but I think it goes deeper than that. He wasn't going to let anybody stop him from being himself - not necessarily to provoke violence for the sake of provoking violence but just to be able to breathe, walk down the street and be Sylvester.

(By the way, I'm not sure if you've heard, but Sylvester fucked fathers ... )
