I wish Prince was like Bruce Springsteen

Why can't Prince take a page out of Bruce Springsteen's book and release some of his old work?

Bruce is coming out with an album of additional material from his DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN album. It is 21 songs that were recorded during those sessions, but left on the floor.

or the deluxe set:

Imagine if Prince came out with an album called "While it Rained..."

Electric Intercourse

Possessed

Wednesday

Father's Song

Love And Sex

Roadhouse Garden

Our Destiny

Moonbeam Levels

Lust U Always

Moral Majority

Electrocution

Wonderful Ass

or even a collection of demos he did for The Time and other artists.

Bruce has come out with several sets of old stuff, as well as some great newer stuff too. He has found a balance of reaching into his archives for the old fans, and finding ways to gather new fans. Prince is an artist, so I wouldn't tell him what to do with his career or catalog, but I wish that he'd consider trying to satisfy old and new fans in some way.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

lol

That'd take common sense on Prince's behalf. There is no evidence he has any.

Bruce and Prince, my two fave (male) artists!! biggrin

Two totally different beasts though...Bruce has always been good to the fans when it comes to stuff like this. I remember when the 4 disc "Tracks" boxset came out, that was awesome!! I can't see Prince doing this though, he doesn't tend to look back very often....

I gotta admit, that Bruce Springsteen 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' box set looks spectacular

It would be great if Prince could do something like this, but I've given up hope.We better just enjoy the Prince CDs we already have because I don't think we'll ever get remasters, box sets, deluxe editions, etc. It's a shame that Prince has no desire to upgrade his own catalog. The fans are the ones who lose out.

....
