I've checked out Slapbak before and they are pretty good. No exposure though. I think they are under the same management team(P Music group) Charlie Wilson and Mint Condition are. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

They toured with Snoop, so i don't know what evolved from there. I think they got some recognition on a few tv-shows who interviewed them as a result of that tour. One or more of those tv-shows are (or were) on youtube. I also have mixed thoughts about some situations of rappers performing with bands. Great that there's a hiphop/musicians-group like The Roots, because i remember visiting in the past a few hiphop-shows from rappers with a band and at certain moments the rappers would stop the musicians in the middle of a jam, shouting like "Cut that shit ! cut that shit !" ... unprofessional to me. I love a good joint of hiphop-artists who mix their rhymes with funk and other grooves (Dj Quik, Outkast, Sugafree, and a whole bunch of olskool : Sugar Hill label, Whodini, etc...), but that live-attitude of cutting a band off just annoys me. Maybe i'm too olskool to get that [Edited 9/1/10 10:42am]
