The Isley Brothers 70's Concert Tours Hi folks, I have a question to ask.Has anyone here ever witnessed The Isley Brothers in concert from the Seventies and early Eighties?I'm talking about the younger siblings joining the older brothers, the 3+3 lineup. They were making that transition to an harder,rock-funk edged sound.Ernie just kills it on the guitar and Marvin was a great bass player ,in my opinion, even though neither one of the them got the recognition they greatly deserved.Ronald Isley is still bad, right before the Mr.Biggs alter ego was even born. I remember reading somewhwere where Ronald said that none of their concerts from the seventies were filmed but I'm still thinking there are some shows out there that were taped.I'm wondering what the songs Say You Will,Take Me To The Next Phase and Ain't I Been Good To You and some others sound like live? Please give me your recollections.Peace!

Jackson35, Are there really some concerts from 1977 on video?I saw videos of the 3+3 lineup on Soul Train live in 1974.The ones I'm looking for are from 75-80.I think they were still creative in those years.I saw photos of the group on stage and the stage was covered in smoke.Did they ever incorporate laser lights in their live shows?Hit me up Jackson35 on the show from 77.Like I said,I could have sworn there were some Isley concerts on video.Thank You!

They did a Show at Yanke Stadium in 1969 called It's Your Thing and it was filmed. They need to release that footage. PRINCE: Always and Forever

I saw some of that footage BITD, too. I'd cut my BALLS off to have a time machine & go to one of those shows.
Any live date during their T-Neck years woulda been unbelievable. Funk Is It's Own Reward

I saw them perform LIVE in 1979. Great show, quite a spectacle. The entire stage seemed to float on clouds of smoke, and every few minutes there was some sort of explosion going off, lol. I mean, make no mistakes: It was a ROCK CONCERT, lol.
But the thing that sticks out in my mind mostly about watching them perform was that about half of them didn't even need to be on stage.... AT ALL. Two or three of the eldest brothers were just walking around with these long-ass fur coats, big hats, and pimp canes, lol. And all they were doing up there was just moving & grooving to the music, lol. Other than that, the show was amazing. Ernie, of course, was the show-stopper! Another great concert memory that I'll never forget.
