love Ddouble; i only had the greatest hits but bought Red Carpet Massacre and enjoyed it. then i copped Rio which much recommendation but apart from the singles which i already knew of, its not that good. My Own Way and the Religion song are the best non-singles. if i choose to get deeper into their back catalogue, i hope its better than Rio

"My Own Way" was the album's first single. Also, you're crazy for not liking Rio.

Red Carpet Massacre, despite all the controversy and the horrid duets with Timba & JT (Nite-Runner, Skin Divers, Tempted, etc. which would have been good songs for a Timba/JT and Simon Le Bon collaboration, but not for a DD LP) features some songs that are not only modern classics for DD, but also some of the best songs of that year (2007):

-The Valley

-Falling Down

-Zoom In

the rest I can live without...

there is also a red carpet massacre b-side 'cry baby cry' that is pretty rockin and should have been on the album (personally i cant listen to it without this track). i saw these fellas at the barrymore theatre for the promotion of red carpet massacre... say what you will they are all amazingly talented, charismatic performers. they also had terri walker on background vocals which i thought was a nice touch.

i believe simon appears on the title track to ronson's upcoming solo album... they also have a track out on a david bowie tribute album.

for the record though, red carpet massacre is the only duran duran album that i can listen to without skipping a track. sometimes the filler on their albums sound a bit dated.

also i feel that the "perfecto remix" of 'out of my mind' is possibly one of the greatest remixes i have heard. powerful stuff.

"Cry Baby Cry" is easily my favorite track. I'm still mystified they left it off the album.

There is absolutely no filler on Rio or Duran Duran AFAIC. I'd probably have to pick "Hold Back the Rain" and "Night Boat" as my least favorite on each album, but I wouldn't call either one filler by any means.

its fun to be an unabashed duran duran fan. people are mystified by my 'rock the rabbit' t-shirt.

Not sure about the albums, but they are still great as a live act. Unlike some Musicians, Duran Duran come to New Zealand regularly, I saw them in 2003 and they were great (They played a lot of their 80s hits then and only a few new songs) and they came again in 2007 (I didn't see them that time). Wouldn't be surprised if they come back next year.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time
