It was Dinah Shore . . . don't you start any fresh rumors. lol

American Golden Girl, stilll waters ran deep. wink

Didnt Carol Channing also admit couple of years ago that she was a part of black persuasion too? hmmm

And Doris Day didn't like it when somebody from Sly's crew leaked the news about their "thing". She denied it in one of her books.

[Edited 8/27/10 9:34am]

It was also mentioned by the bandmembers in a 1973 Rolling Stone article when they said the rumor wasn't true. As for Carol, she was on Wendy Williams last month and said her mother lied to her and told she was part black but she isn't. WTF??? lol

Her mother gave her mixed messages as a child. I think she about admitted she was part black. lol I don't even think SHE knew until much later about her identity. Something was up with her mother. confused

Your post just reminded me of that youtube clip somebody posted with the "Different Strokes" opening credits, dubbed with the eerie music instead of the show's theme disbelief lol Proof that grown folks are fucked up as the day is long.

Doris Day was awesome as Calamity Jane. I used to watch it alot growing up, and saw it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had heard the rumour about Doris Day having a fling with Sly Stone before. It's just so bonkers that it's just got to be true.

I love Doris's 'Day By Night' and 'Latin For Lovers' albums. I love her slightly rough smokey voice.

She still looked amazing, well into her sixties.

Here she is at 53 years old, in 1975 - a year older than gnarly old Madonna is now.

The first time I heard about "Calamity Jane" was in this documentary...

Perspective lol

Anyway, now Love Me Or Leave Me was the 1st one I did enjoy nod but frankly, I take my Doris Day entertainment in veeeeery small doses though, the movies she did with Billy Wilder were all great.

Cynda doing a shit load of smart moufing bored2

Ok ok okaaaaay *rubbing my fuckin' temple* disbelief

Since you're here though lol would you mind telling whats the title of the movie she did(I think in 49) where she played a singer, but her husband(who happens to be her rival, I think) wanted her to quit singing once they get married?

Its a Star Is Born-ish kinda flick, but she acted her tail off in it, I watched it in TCM couple of months ago when I was on my sick leave.
