Led Zeppelin & Marvin Gaye Love

No reason why i put these 2 together they have just been the two artists in my rotation the past few day's it seem's at school, after work etc.

So kind of random but whatever lol

What's everyones favorite Zeppelin & Gaye album?

With Zeppelin i would say IV everything on it is a musical masterpiece EVERY SONG, starting with the funky Black Dog to the gloomy end of When The Levee Breaks

After that Physical Graffiti would be my second favorite just a great mixture song's from one of there best song's with incredible instrumentals like Trampled Under Foot & In My Time of Dying to the hard rock of Custard Pie, kashmir & Ten years Gone and my personal fav black country woman cool

My third would have to be the rocking Led Zeppelin I cool

As for Marvin i may be a bit cliche in saying this but IDC What's Going On is his ultimate, he had MANY great albums but this album as short as it is is one powerful piece of music. Every song is incredible there short but just powerful in there delivery and message What's going On, Inner City blues, Flyin high, Save The childrern, What's Happening Brother... every song is just a work of art

After that Let's Get It On is my 2nd favorite, From The title track to You sure like to ball, my personal favorite Distant Lover love and another personal fav if I Should die tonight just a great album!

My 3rd pick would be Midnight Love... Poor Marvin this was his last album but that's not to be ashamed of from the sensual Midnight Lady to Rocking After Midnight, the legendary Sexual Healing and Joy this was a great finale to Marvin's great career

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

They're two of my all-time favorites as well. My favorite Zeppelin album is probably Physical Graffitti. As for Marvin, I'd have to go with Here My Dear. I listened to that one almost constantly when I first got it!

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Zeppelin. I dig some of their stuff, I agree that IV is a great album, but I feel like there's something I'm missing overall.

I find Plant a bit annoying. He over emphasises every single word.

cool cool Two of the greatest...

I owe a lot to Led Zep : They made me love "hair metal" (with great songz like "Kashmir", "Ramblo On", "Dazed And Confused"), they made me more curious about the 1960s-1970s counterculture (Crowley, Kenneth Anger, Symbolism...) ... My favourite album being "Led Zeppelin I" (containing my all-time favorite, "Baby I'm Gonna Leave You"...

Marvin Gaye... Just so many memories... I just close my eyes and picture my mum singing along the whole "What's Going On" album, back when I was a child... The "Here My Dear" album was there too... But my favourite is atie between "I Want You" and "Let's Get It On"..

These two acts just reminds me that the 1970s music was the best.

Everybody is somebody, but nobody wants to be themselves.

I could go on for days about how much time I have spent listening to both Zep and Marvin.

Zep was a colossal part of my childhood. I have probably played every album except CODA hundreds and hundreds of times. Marvin, and countless other Motown acts have dominated my post-college life, (20 years running).

The only thing I will say on the Zep front is, as much as I still dig a ton of their material, the out and out theft of so many songs, (especially on their first two albums) really takes them down a notch in my belt. Borrowing a bit here and there is one thing, (Marvin was quite guilty of that himself), but so many songs on Zep I and II in particular were stolen outright.

When a friend told me about it many moons ago, I didn't believe him. I thought for sure he was exaggerating the extent of the "borrowing". Then I actually heard some of the original source material, and I couldn't believe it. Non bueno X 1 million.

Yes, that is a big controversy in the band... but at least on later albums they did a lot of there own stuff
