Kanye To Offer Free Download A Week
August 2010
Kanye West has announced plans to release one new song a week until Christmas.
The rapper and producer explained his weekly giveaway via Twitter yesterday (August 22). "I know yall need the music so I'm dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song it may be a new Jay [Z] song etc..." he wrote. "I'm calling it good Fridays. Yall know every Friday yall gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now," he added. "It's about the fans. No more holding back. That's why I dropped 'See Me Now'... It wasn't about me, it was about the Summer the BBQs etc." It's expected West will give away the music via Kanyewest.com.

very self-indulgent of course, a nice gesture, but at the same time, nothing more than a commercial ploy at the end of it all, so dont be fooled when an artist says they are "giving" away things, sure it looks that way and its free tracks, but in the long run the fans of the artist will be paying for something else. "I know u all need the music" im glad he worded it that way, i was thinking he would have said "I know u all need music" that would have been more up Kanye's alley, and Jay's boring ass needs to just go away and get back some of his "flow" rather than tossing free shit out there. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F | |
