I've only heard her say Stevie is really close to her family and that he used to baby sit her when she was young. And so what if Stevie called her "cuz"? Don't most black Americans refer to each other as "cuz"? That doesn't mean they're related by blood.

you go find the link, it was the janet in studio with angie martinez on hot 97 during the 20yo era. no she didnt call him 'cuz' like a play cousin, she told angie that stevie is her cousin and when angie said 'get outta here', janet said its really true and said he is a distant cousin on her mom's side. now was she lyin i dont know but she most definately said it, she also called him her cousin when she inducted him in the naacp hall of fame.
