The Emotions & Al McKay's L.A. All Stars live @ Birdland, L.A. (circa 90's)

It is a treat what kind of live-footage has been appearing so far online. Here below an impressive & solid set featuring :

The Emotions
Wanda Hutchinson - vocals
Sheila Hutchinson - vocals
Jeanette Hawes - vocals

LA All Stars
Al McKay - guitar
Verdine White - bass
Johnny Graham - guitar
Jerry Peters - keyboard*
Cat Gray - keyboard*
Leon "Ndugu" Chancler - percussion
Takashi Numazawa - drums

* in the first clip, one of the keyboardists is clearly Larry Dunn as a guest it seems, but the youtube-description doesn't mention him.

Vine Street Horns
Harry Kim - trumpet
Dan Fornero - trumpet
Arturo Vesco - trombone
Andrew Woolfolk - sax

The version of "Blessed" is one of my fave parts in that gig, and the horn-intro at "Best Of My Love" bow worship

Do they perform "Don't Ask My Neighbor"? And if so which video? Thanks for posting.

highfive

I attended once a show of this later formation, which included Michael Harris, one of the remaining trumpeters from the Phenix Horns.

You see him around the end of your posted clip. Not shure if the other original Phenix Horns-trumpeter, Rahmlee Michael Davis, is in that show as well.

I've seen live-clips on youtube where he was though. The show i visited had them performing "Pride" from EW&F's Faces-album.

So much power which that horn-section blasted through the venue during that jam.

I couldn't find other videos from this show unfortunately. I think those are the 4 tracks which they performed,

as that video-series is posted in 4 parts. In the first clip you see the band starting the gig, and all the 4 videos

segue when you check the beginning and the end of the clip. At the end of video 4 you can see the band leaving

the stage. That could've been a gig-break as well, or maybe there was an encore where "Don't Ask My Neighbours"

was performed. You might be able to mail that youtube-poster for more info.
