Stacy Lattisaw

This woman had an amazing voice. My gosh. This was the last song that she did that I loved. I saw a brief interview where she talked about how unhappy she was, and how she suffered from depression. I'll try to find it and post it. She looks nothing like she did previously, she was so attractive and was a complete package (eventhough I know she had weight struggles). That voice is amazing. I heard she was on or will be on Unsung (which I have no access to).

Check out ya boy P-Diddy rocking it in this video. The volume is kinda low though.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

This song should have been her crossover breakthrough music

"Million Dollar Babe" by Stacy Lattisaw (1983)

She was at her best from 1980 through 1983. After that, the only song I like from her was "Nail It To The Wall" and even it wasn't as good as her earlier stuff.

I hated Nail it to the Wall, and I hate that song Million Dollar Babe. Sorry...I just didn't like "pop" Stacy Lattisaw, I should say that I didn't like the particular pop material that was written for her.

I think 1982's 'Sneakin Out' is her best album music in addition to the three songs you listed,it also contains one of her best ballads "I Could Love You So Divine",a remarkable song that really should have been a single.

I agree, she should have been HUGE, but I just don't think she had that drive, that real need to do it. She was really popular in her hometown, DC and just didn't seem to want to stretch out. As for not looking the same, as someone mentioned, I disagree with that. She looks exactly like she should after some years, an older version of the teenager we knew.

Those are the main 3 tracks for me. cool And I also like Prefect Combination & Where Do We Go From Here, Stacey's duets with Johnny Gill.

And I still remember a while back that Mariah's Heartbreaker sampled the living hell out of Stacey's Attack Of The Name Game. lol

What about her 1984 album with Johnny Gill? I thought for sure that you would like the uptempo jam "Block Party"

headbang takes me back to the summer of '84

I don't like this song at all.New Jack Swing wasn't her style and she sounds disinterested.I think she left the music business at the right time.If she had continued making music throughout the 90s and beyond, they would have paired her with rappers, making more crappy songs like this one disbelief

I can tolerate "Perfect Combination" but I can't stand "Where Do We Go From Here" which sounds too late 1980s sounding. I hate the way 90% of the slows songs of the late 1980s sound. They just don't sound good like the ones from the early 1980s.

I don't remember a fast jam from her in 1984. They didn't play it in my area.

Really? This song was huge here in the Bay Area.It was the third single from that album, after "Perfect Combination" and "Baby It's You",which are great songs too.
