Don't stone me, but I much prefer the '89 Remix Project version. |

This is the only track I skip from "Stompin'".
It sounded like they were trying to ease their way through pop radio with that one, not that there's anything wrong with it, it just sounds forced. |

It showed, it charted but not successfully. Chaka was through with Rufus already so it was no use. |

Haven't heard this in awhile... I gotta find my copy of Stompin so I can jam properly.
I was listening to Rufus' debut today and I'm always in shock that at 19 years old, she not only had THAT voice but also the technique and skill to use it. Maybe Your Baby is phenomenal and I wish I could have seen Stevie's face when he first heard it. Then you have the awesome ballad of Whoever Thrilling You and the masterpiece that send chills through my spine "Love The One You're With".
Chaka is cemented as my favorite female of all time. Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND
Chaka Khan = FIRE
Sade = WATER

No one ever called her one but she was a true child prodigy. |

Its a shame Ms.Chaka doesn't care for the blues, that song is proof that her voice is built for it. |

!!!!!!!!!!!
YES! Her voice and talent knows no boundaries. I believe she was a child prodigy as well because her abiltity to transition between registers, her phrasing and the ability to scat so well for just 19 is unbelievable. Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND
Chaka Khan = FIRE
Sade = WATER
