It still doesn't excuse the fact that she was selfish and deceitful. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

She claims she did NOT want her partner 2 catch it.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
She did NOT tell him that she has AIDS before they had sex. He got informed about it after their relationship ended. That makes her guilty. The man is of course also an idiot for having unprotected sex.

duh. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
She doesn't have AIDS, she's HIV positive.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I KNEW that some mr. know-it-all would mention this. But it came quicker than expected.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm no mr. know-it-all. I'm only saying that AIDS and HIV are not the same. That's all.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Exactly. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Was that before OR after she finally gotten the memo that she can still pass on the HIV by giving oral sex?!?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
There is still no "cure" for neither one.

This is worse than murder

Based on the men I've talked to, unfortunately, the majority of men don't think they can catch HIV from a woman. The only reason why they wear condoms once in a while is to avoid pregnancy but they don't worry about STD's too much. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Disgusting. Don't care what gender, that's just nasty.

What the hell???
Oh string this bitch up quick!!! Foul ass heffa. I think she knew exactly what she was doing too.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Humans are a trip..............why the hell would any one do this?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Perhaps she is wounded and in search of some twisted revenge. The old "somebody gave it to me so I will give it to somebody else" tired song and dance. If she was so inclined...she could have just whupped the ass of the dude that infected her...but oh no....she has to take her anger and vengengeance (sp) on some poor unsuspecting sap!
Yeah, yeah, I get that everybody needs to look out for themselves during sexual liaisons but still...what she did was wrong and most foul. It is a terrible thing to abuse a person's trust and endanger their lives. We all know humans, particularly men, don't thing logically during sex...so to use that against a person and knowingly infect them with a virus that could prove deadly and is easy to pass on to another person well....that just makes you far more evil and incredibly more careless than the people you giftgiving too. Uhm, explain this please, HIV is not in the saliva, how would this happen? Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

If that woman has a cut in her mouth and her male lover didn't know about it.

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't wanna say it cannot happen but I believe there is no case in the whole history of HIV/AIDS with transmission through oral sex (active or passive). It is more of a theoretical rather than a documented risk
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
WTF ! I know 3 HIV Positive people, one caught it through oral sex, and they know people male & female that caught it through oral sex. All it takes is a small lesion or raw gums, canker sore. As easily as you can get herpes or gonorrhea in the mouth is as easily as you can get HIV. That's why you SHOULD wear a dental dam during oral sex. But since you think it's just a THEORY, roll the dice and take your chances. See this is why there is such a rise in HIV cases because of people in denial.

Which is why I said 'I Don't wanna say it cannot happen' so I will avoid this kind of attack. You are claiming you know three people. I said I am not aware of any scientifically proven transmission through oral sex. That doesn't mean there is not any. It's just means they are extremely few because they are very difficult to prove beyond doubt (since most people go on to have other forms of sex besides oral) What I do know is this:
Various scientific studies have been performed around the world to try and document and study instances of HIV transmission through oral sex. A programme in San Francisco studied 198 people, nearly all gay or bisexual men. The subjects stated that they had only had oral sex for a year, from six months preceding the six-month study to its end. 20 per cent of the study participants (39 people) reported performing oral sex on partners they knew to be HIV positive. 35 of those did not use a condom and 16 reported swallowing semen. No one became HIV positive during the study, although the small number of participants performing oral sex on HIV positive partners meant the researchers could only say that there was a less than 2.8 per cent chance of infection through oral sex over a year.1 In 2000, a different San Francisco study of gay men who had recently acquired HIV infection found that 7.8 per cent of these infections were attributed to oral sex.2 However, the results of the study have since been called into question due to the reliability of the participants' data.
In June 2002, a study conducted amongst 135 HIV negative Spanish heterosexuals, who were in a sexual relationship with a person who was HIV positive, reported that over 19,000 instances of unprotected oral sex had not led to any cases of HIV transmission.3 The study also looked at contributing factors that could affect the potential transmission of HIV through oral sex. They monitored viral load and asked questions such as whether ejaculation in the mouth occurred and how good oral health was. Amongst HIV positive men, 34 per cent had ejaculated into the mouths of their partners. Viral load levels were available for 60 people in the study, 10 per cent of whom had levels over 10,000 copies. Nearly 16 per cent of the HIV positive people had CD4 counts below 200. The study, conducted over a ten year period between 1990 and 2000, adds to the growing number of studies which suggest varying levels of risk of HIV transmission from oral sex when compared to anal or vaginal intercourse. At the 4th International Oral AIDS Conference held in South Africa, the risk of transmission through oral sex was estimated to be approximately 0.04 per cent per contact.4 This percentage figure is a lot lower than the two American figures, because this figure is a risk per contact percentage, whereas the other figures are percentage risks over much longer time periods. Oral sex is still regarded as a low-risk sexual activity in terms of HIV transmission, but only when more work is done will we be clearer as to the risks of oral sex.
Of course none of this means you shouldn't use protection. Better safe than sorry.

Sorry you felt attacked, but too many people think that HIV/AIDS is no big deal or a thing of the past or that how you contract is is blown out of proportion. That's the jist of what I got from you first comment. It's a fact that 3 of my friends are HIV positive, not a claim. Instead of regurgitating someone elses data on HIV, go talk to people who have it and are living with it. HIV/AIDS is no joke.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Once again I never said it's a joke and I feel sorry for your friends and of course it's a big deal and the greatest misconception there is for HIV is that there is a cure now (there is not there is just prolongation of life). And no this is not the first information I came across on the internet. Also I never doubted that you have 3 friends with HIV, I doubted that all of your 3 friends got it through oral sex. So sorry if I made you think I downplay the disease, I am not. Anyway the discussion is pointless, because no matter how small the risk, it is not something one wants to take his chances on so better protect yourselves.

serves her right! | |||

It absolutely does. This sort of thing has been discussed in a bunch of threads before and it always gets me. There's lots of information readily available and by all means she should've been upfront, but I don't understand how it's solely the poz person's fault.
