Any Pet Shop Boys Fans?

For a few years i never was interested in the group, Because for some reason the name always sounded like some boy band type name and i heard them refereed to as ''gay'' music as in music gay people go to the clubs and dance to with no depth.

BOY WAS I WRONG!

I Bought Please & There new album Yes, And this is an 80's masterpiece! every song was great, and the lyrics where fantastic i was pleasantly surprised. i love there new album Yes to Love Etc. Beautiful People and others are great song's!

I Wish i hadn't prejudged these guys so harshly, There a great band smart synth music i just love it! i am going to buy Actually next since that is there biggest album. What should i get next after that?

please, actually, disco, introspective, behaviour were the best

disco and introspective were brilliant compilations of 12"s, those ones were remixes that sounded like the original versions (ie extended versions) unlike later remixes that sound nothing like the originals. there were 4 volumes of disco but the first is the best and introspective was also brilliant. actually had some great tracks and behaviour had johhny marr on guitar

All of their albums are worthwhile. Very is amazing, as is Behaviour. Nightlife, Release, Fundamental, Bilingual - - - all terrific.

My advice is to get Actually next and just keep going chronologically.

They also have literally dozens of b-sides, many of which are every bit as strong as the singles they back.

YES!, I Am very excited about this to be honest...

But considering there last album with Roth was 1984 which was a masterpiece, It will be hard to top!

But i am excited to see them back with Roth in the studio. Suck's Mike is not there to play on bass though!

What do you think?

Well, someone said they're a gay duo making gay music for gay clubs, and I AGREE. nod

Anyway, I really dig their 80s classics (minus It's a Sin, which is awful in my eyes) and their early 90s stuff; after Very I just don't really care anymore...

I didn't pay much attention to them in the 1980's. Honestly, they kind of dropped off the pop radar here in the US after the first couple records. Years later I got into the stuff they produced for Dusty and Liza. This past year I bought their debut album and really like it. The next couple abums have a few tracks that I instantly liked but overall they aren't albums I can listen to from start to finish. Maybe they'll grow on me.

I have tried and tried and tried to get into PSB, but I just can't. I have a UK pen pal. who loves Prince as much as he loves PSB and Janet. He is just constantly enamoured with PSB. I've listened to most of their catalog, and it just don't do anything for me. I like the radio hits, but beyond that - it's just vapid at times, to me.

Always loved 'em! The only ones I don't go nuts for are Fundamental and Release, but even those have some keepers on them.

But at least you dig the radio hits!

Im a long-time fan since '86. Great pop songs with dry, smug (and sometimes gay) sensibilities. West End Girls still bumps at grown-folks gatherings.

Behavior would have to be the artistic peak of the duo.
