too! He played on 6th street forEVER and was a legend in A-town but virtually unknown to anyone outside of Texas. 6th street in the 80s was a sublime time for seeing awesome talent any night of the week. | |

Can't really add to the least BUT, hardly nobody has even heard of South African Trevor Rabin, former member of Yes.
Love how melodic and clean he is. Not sure how to technically put it, but his guitar sores in that song.
On the subject of Yes, Steve Howe, their original guitarist, seems capable of playing just about any sort of guitar. Quite amazing yet I still prefer the AOR melodic tonings of Rabin, even if snobbish Yes die hards hate his what they would probably snort as "lowest common denominator guitar playing." Very clean (whuch I like), very melodic (which I love) and quick to boot.
Shout out to Dan Huff, who along with Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, Paul Pesco and a couple others completely dominated the session guitar scene for pop music that was so prelevant in the late 70's and 80's. Great and very underated guitarists (outside of the industry), who often made subtle but by no means any less important touches to pop records then the big and more famous guys. Todays pop music seems completely lacking in these session guitarists, and more the pity. I miss it alot.
