Do you think Sade will be grammy nominated this year?

If so, in what categories and how many grammies, if any, has she won?

Yeah I believe it. Like mainly in the R&B categories. Not sure of the main categories. And I think she's won five but I'm not sure.

Possibility. Who knows? That's the only main category I could see it nominated for. Other than that, she'll get R&B nods for sure.

It will probably get nominated for something. And I'm a HUGE Sade fan. But... redface I didn't really dig the Soldier of Love album. It's kind of boring. And for the first time since, like, the early eighties I really wanted them to sound different. It's just more of the same. I still listened to SOL more than a lot of other albums I've purchased this year, though.

Definitely concur with you. I own every single Sade album there is, and "Soldier of Love" was a huge disappointment for me. It was utterly boring as hell and it didn't even feature an instrumental track (something almost always found on a Sade album). I could respect the fact that they were trying a different direction, but don't put me to sleep while doing it though. lol I can pop in the "Diamond Life" album today and it sounds as if it was just recently released.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't really see it. Soldier of Love for record or song is a high possibility. Album, maybe. I LOVE Sade but feel this is one of her weakest albums to date. I hope she doesn't wait another 10 years for the next one.

Yeah, me too.

BTW, has she done a world tour with this album?

With the weak project, if she does, the Grammy truely means NOTHING.

She should get an award for looking so damn fine.

But Soldier of Love sucked. It was so boring. I say that in past tense because I haven't listened to it since the day I bought it. I have all the other Sade albums as well - I wish she'd ditch all the electronics and go back to the Stronger Than Pride sound.

So far no and I'm not surprised. It just hasn't received the love of her previous efforts. With the current economy, it's probably best to wait for a stronger disc. But I do keep an ear out to hear if there are any plans for her to do shows.

I would guess that she would win the Grammy just because the album IS that weak. Grammy's are a joke these days anyway. Would it matter if she did or didn't win?

I certainly hope so. She deserves it. However, I think they will nominate Lady Gaga for everything they possibly can and will give the awards to shit music/artists like that instead.

I hope I'm wrong because Sade's cd is awesome!!

I really hope Sade cleans up at the Grammys with at least 3 wins. I love the new album and the new direction they went in. I didn't like Diamond Life or Lovers Rock much. Soldier seems like a great mix of everything they've done while adding new dimensions. I also love the confidence in her vocals, she was using her head voice and really belting some of the tunes. My 2nd favorite album of the year behind Corinne's. cool

Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND
Chaka Khan = FIRE
Sade = WATER

Critically, it was highly respected. I didn't read one bad review of this disc. Commercially, didn't it hold the record for highest debut up until Eminem knocked it out? It was also Sade's first release to debut at number one...not too bad. To date, Soldier of Love has sold over 1 million records in the U.S. and gone platinum in 5 other countries.

I'd say its highly likely to be nominated for record of the year, song of the year, and best rnb record/song of the year. I'm sure the tour will be announced in September for a winter list of dates, when there's less competition.
