Madonna Fan- you- How many years ? I have been a Madonna Fan forever. When "Like A Virgin" came out, is when I became a loyal fan. I have all her albums and movies. She is a Leo. We have the same Rising Sign, Virgo. We are picky, critical, worry about health, and hard-working. And we look younger than we are. She does not look 52. She looks 35. Hail to the Queen ! Thank you! Madonna Fans, for the Nice comments/posts. [Edited 8/24/10 12:55pm]

I remember "Holiday" making its early rounds on radio and it made it to Oklahoma. I was in high school. One day, I was at a beauty college getting a rather awesome haircut. Some flaming 'mo that looked like Jm J. Bullcock was hot ironing his hair, and was dancing around and singing "Holiday" which was on the radio PA system.
I remember thinking it was a black girl singing. I had heard the song some, but never knew who sang it - no name or anything. I knew I loved that song, and I still do. I was pretty much an instant fan.

Been aware of her from the very beginning - maybe a year later. I was big into breakdancing when 'Everybody' was released and I have clear memories of the older kids playing that song on tapes (probably recorded off late night radio). I'm not a really big fan, though. Even gone through a couple phases where I didn't like her much at all. I LOOOOVE Express Yourself and Frozen (along with pretty much all of the Ray of Light album), but the rest of her career kind of just depends on my mood. I do give her a ton of respect and admiration for building and maintaining a career in a male dominated/controlled industry for the better part of thirty years, though. Nobody has succeeded at doing whatever the hell they want like Madonna has.

I have all of her albums and had a poster as a kid, but I consider myself a casual fan too with a lot of respect for her, and I'm always delighted to hear from her. [Edited 8/14/10 17:06pm]

Since the True Blue days (least that's the first real memory I had of her though I'm kinda reminded I was exposed to Madonna as a baby and was a "fan" even then, same with MJ and Prince lol).

yeah it was exactly in the true blue days for me or just shy of it I got into everyone

20 years and counting.
My earliest memory is seeing the 'Papa Don't Preach' and 'True Blue' videos on the Christmas Top Of The Pops. I was only about 5 or 6. First Madonna single I bought was 'Dear Jessie' December 1989.
When 'Vogue' hit a few months later and I saw the Blond Ambition tour, I was a major Madonna fan.

I was taken when I saw the "Material Girl" video in 1985 on Solid Gold.
I was for sure a fan by 1986 in the True Blue era. That was also the year I got the Like A Virgin cassette. Saw every video on Much Music back then. Also watched Who's That Girl way back in 1987.
I saw her on the Confessions tour in 2006, but didn't really like what she has done since. 1986-2006. [Edited 8/15/10 8:49am]

my parents rented Truth or Dare in 1991 or so, when I was 12.
I thought she was fun, witty, bitchy, and really nice to look at.
I became a fast fan, and to this day i root for her, and hope each project goes well. That said, i miss the fun and witty side of things, very badly.

Definitely symptomatic of being a Truth Or Dare fan.

Around 1983, I heard Holiday and thought it was Stacy Lattisaw at first. I also saw her first "gig" outside of the US, miming 2 songs at The Hacienda in Manchester for The Tube tv show. I'm not a mega fan, preferring her 80s work but she made an important contribution to music.

From around 1986 (I was 10 then). I saw 'Papa Don't Preach' on TV and I bought the 'True Blue' and 'Like A Virgin' tapes. I am a fan, I have all albums, music-DVD releases, concerts and some of her films. [Edited 8/15/10 10:17am]

When I saw Who's That Girl in like 88. I was 11. I didnt' see it in the movies, so I'm guessing it was about a year later when it came on regular tv, pre cable. I taped it off the TV and used to watch that movie over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. I know that movie is a hot mess, but I loved it, her attitude, the clothes she wore, (LOVED THE CLOTHES!) the way she transformed herself into Louden's cousin when he took her to see his fiancee, when she stole the tapes in the wrecka stow in the mall, the way she showed out at Wendy's wedding. I loved the soundtrack. She sold me after that.

Today is her birthday. Happy Birthday, ya old crow. hehe
I don't think she looks 35, but she does look great. I think she looks better for her age than Prince does at the same age.
And we know why Prince is suddenly wrinkle free in the forehead and isn't sweating like he used to.

From the first time I heard Holiday so that's like 27 years? There were some dips during Ray of Light and American Life but I've been pretty steady and my fandom seriously intensified after my first Madonna concert, The Girlie Show. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Since the first day I heard this on the radio.
Has it really been 27 years? Damn! It really doesn't seem like it's been that long. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I just ripped Who's That Girl from my DVD, converted it to MP4 and put it on my iPod, a couple of weeks ago. I always thought her portrayal of Nikki Finn was just too cute. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I have a fair bit of her stuff but i wouldn't call mysef a fan at all, maybe a little. I've been aware of her since she broke big in the UK, i guess that was 1985.
I think there's something quite sad about her now in some ways these days. The old disco granny syndrome.

I liked a few of her early singles, but I didn't really become a diehard fan until 'Like A Prayer'.That album sealed the deal for me I've been a huge fan ever since.Imo,she's one of the few 80s pop artists who still makes great music.

I love the movie 'Who's That Girl' It's the only Madonna film that I watch regularly.I never understood why people went crazy over 'Desperately Seeking Susan',which I found boring, but 'Who's That Girl' is alot of fun.Madonna's character is outrageous!

I hate to admit it but yeah. Although 'Confessions' is definitely a good album, it somehow felt like the album when she crossed over to the veteran acts for good. Not much ambition since then. Plus music seems to be an afterthought nowadays. Still love her though and still buy each and every one of her albums on release date.
PS There won't be any album release this year so hopefully when she will come back next year she will have ditched her crazy David Guetta idea. I hate most of the songs he has produced

She's always had the occasional single that I dug, but it has only been since 1987's Like a Prayer that I've felt any interest in checking out entire albums of hers. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
