Abba is one of those groups that no one claims they are fans of, yet we all know all their songs.

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

I've known about ABBA since the late 1970's. Besides the international hit Dancing Queen, I also listen to Knowing Me Knowing You, Tiger, The Name Of The Game, Take A Chance On Me, Summer Night City, Voulex-Vous, The Winner Takes It All, Super Trooper, & Lay All Your Love On Me.

This dude

[img:$uid]http://laserfunk.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/louis_johnson.jpg[/img:$uid]

The year was circa 1980/1981, and Louis toured with his brother George through Europe. Before one of their shows they were interviewed and Louis was asked which artists were his favourite at that time. He told that he was looking forward to Abba's upcoming album with "The Winner Takes It All" on it. I thought it was an interesting remark because Louis told

about his views how well he thought that Abba's work was composed and arranged. A great remark from a sessionplayer who performed on countless projects from many artists.

Well no, it didn't. But like, how old are you? Because most people over thirty are pretty familiar with their music. And quite a few more are aware of the play and movie filled with (based on?) their music. I'm pretty sure they're one of the single most popular groups in the history of modern recorded music. So it is kind of an odd thread title. Jus' sayin'.
