Uhh, I am gonna go out on a limb here and say Faith is horribly dated sounding and does not work as an entire album at all. However, there are some genius songs on the album that are gems when listened to on their own. Space for sale... |

I don't think it's that dated. The technology from where the album was produced from is but the songs aren't. |

This is exciting. But really only for the bonus material that they will be including. The CD doesn't really sound like it needs remastering, and all I can say is that I hope George is involved with the actual remastering process.
Regardless, will definitely be picking up the deluxe version, even if I have to order it from Europe. |

This album still knocks hard and even more so than it did back in 1987. I can't really dismiss this album's production that much either.

I'm not a huge George Michael Fan, all I've got is a Wham hits disc and Ladies and Gentlemen, but depending on what's in this I might pick it up. |

Hard Day, I Want Your Sex and Monkey are horribly dated and the production has 80's written all over it. But, like I said, great songs but as an album, it just doesn't hold up IMHO. It's considered a classic album next to Purple Rain, Thriller, Tapestry and Rumour and I just don't agree that it's of that consistent quality as the others. While this is not his best album per-se nor my personal favourite (those honors go to Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 and Older), I still think that this is an excellent album and one that has stood up pretty good in my estimation. I can still see what you're saying though... Check me out and add me on:

His best album and the best of 1987, it's the Thriller of 1987 or the Purple Rain of 1984 |

What are the "rarities" this might contain?
Maybe the "I want your sex" parts 1,2 and 3 together?
I bought that single ages ago at ebay and cost me and arm and a leg!!
I don't know anything about B-sides for this album, apart from the Instrumental of Faith, Kissing a Fool & Father Figure.
Any other info? "America is a continent..." |

Hopefully this will lead to Listen Without Prejudice getting the deluxe treatment... maybe with Vol. 2 as the extra disc??? Man that would rock. |

Although I understand the importance of Faith for GM's career, I disagree about it being his best. IMO that honor wil always go to Listen Without Prejudice. Took a lot of balls to release a tune like Praying for Time as a lead single. The diversity and maturity of LWP was what really struck me. But, as we witnessed with Prince, radio/top 40 fans wanted a Faith Vol. 2 as the follow-up -- so LWP didn't sell anywhere near what Faith did. Popularity does not necessarily make an album great. Many here will defend SOTT being better than Purple Rain (myself included), but SOTT didn't sell near what PR did. I see Listen Without Predudice as George's SOTT. Nonetheless, I welcome a remastered expanded edition of Faith... as long as we get some prime extra material with it AND if Columbia releases an remastered expanded edition of Listen Without Predudice soon... AND someone gets George some serious help with his life. |

Well, I've always thought that Faith is his PR and LWPVol.1 his ATWIAD, far more adventorous but far far worse and less entertaining...
And as far as I'm concerned, after that, George lost it... |

Well parts 1 and 2 are together on the album. Part 3 "A Last Request" is only on the CD (for those that don't know). I mixed part 3 onto the end of part 1 and 2 for my own whims. However, with the fade on it, and trying to boost the volume, there's still those few seconds of seguing that are rougher than I'd like.
I thought the maxi single of that song had all 3 mixed together anyway, but I could be wrong on that. That might have only been on a UK single, too, and not released that way in the US (taking that from what Wikipedia is showing). |

The remixes/b-sides were:
I Want Your Sex (Monogamy Mix) - parts 1,2 & 3
Faith (Instrumental)
Hard Day (Shep Pettibone Mix) - longer than on the Faith CD
Love's In Need Of Love Today
Father Figure (Instrumental)
Monkey (Extended Version)
Monkey (Acapella)
Monkey (Extra Beats)
Kissing A Fool (Instrumental) |

I tell ya, as much as I love GM, some of those mixes were dated and hollow. They really sound rooted in the late 80's, whereas the album itself does not. Those "Monkey" remixes were just horrible, as was the "Hard Day" mix. I know it was the sound of the day, but it didn't age well. I think I'd rather go for outtakes, if anything extra is going to show up on it. |

the cd single had them run together, but it was literally just like if you programmed the album cd tracks together from what i remember. i haven't played the cd single in years. it's quite rare as it's 23 years old now and few people had cd players back then |

I'd love to hear a better segue with the parts 1 and 2 seguing with part 3. 1 and 2 are already together on the album, but 3 is just a bonus track and has a fade in at the beginning (just as part 2 has a fade out at the end). I'd like to NOT hear that fade.
Hell, I'd like to own that single! haha |

MAN I SO HOPE THAT'S THE CASE! Those parts deserved to be together, it's like a mini-play or a mini-movie. |

i don't think it fades, but it's not like it's got something extra and exciting in between the drum machine fading in and out |

I just dusted the single cd (or EP?) I bought back then. It has 3 tracks one going right after the other.
No pause, No fade in or out.
It's called Monogany Mix (13:13)
Rhythm 1 Lust
Rhythm 2 Blass In Love
Rhythm 3 A Last Request.
Oh! and it was made in the U.K.

I wonder if they're gonna put those songs in a Disc 2 (if there is one) and add his version of "Heaven Help Me" too. |
