I gotta listen to it again. I kinda look at MJ's later music like I do Marvin's. Even with their problems, they were able to craft some great music during trying times.

I need to listen again too , if people were looking for michael to be deep and candid History is the album I would suggest. But I was always stuck in the off the wall and truimph era's lol probably why I didn't blast history like that. I like stranger in moscow though.

I've learned to appreciate Michael in all of his forms.

Yeah, me too especially in the past year. I´ve been listening to everything, from his early solo and J5 complilations, throught Jacksons to Invincible.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I hope no one took what I said the wrong Way. I do notice Some MJ fans have certain era’s they like to stay in( and some take offense to that) the fact is way before he past I blast all his albums so it’s just certain albums I wore out more lol then I would moved on to the next one. For example I play blood on the dance floor more now then I did in the past. I honesty feel he hasn’t had a bad album and love all his stuff just the 80’s era I have a soft spot more for. But my two favorite albums are off the wall and Dangerous (not a 80’s album is it)Or there are times I’ll listen to the Jackson 5/ Jacksons so I like to rotate.

One thing I've liked about Richard Pryor's jokes is that he told a story. The 'n' word, I disliked but before he passed, he said that he will never use it again because he loves his people. Also, yes to todays comedians that has gone overboard with the jokes. There are very few I've seen that hasn't.

He swore of the N word in 82' after his africa trip. I thought I heard him slip once but i'm not sure. Richard was THE genius, in my mind, the rest aren't even close. I think the spoiled, bratty type of black comics started with Eddie Murphy, as brilliant as he was, led the way for a new wave of very disrespectful black comics. Too reliant on making an audience laugh without any thought to craft or art. The Jamie Foxx's, the Living Colors, Martin Lawrence's all are Richards spoiled children.

I don't know a black comedian today so far who hasn't said that Richard Pryor was their inspiration. They just took it to another level, and making more money doing it.

Yeah, he definitely went overboard on that one nod

if you couldn't see by looking at him that he had issues you are blind. He can't even handle fame on the level he's at what would he have done in Michaels situation? Started killing people?

I kept wondering what was the motive behind Katt's rant. I think he just thought he was "keeping it real". Sound like he kept it "fake". Katt definitely has major issues.

Just to make people laugh probably, he don't look right to me. He's off, he's attacking an icon had strength, that kind of fame would break most men. Katt's already broken and he wasn't shit to begin with. Few of us can fathom how living like that would be, we talk of Michael but the stress of that lifestyle drove strong men. Few people know it but Bruce Lee died from allergic reaction to eating cannibis, he passed out once they told him to stop...Bruce was a very strong, determined guy, after a certain point I guess he needed help relaxing.

When he kept saying "Michael forgot he was a n*gga" over and over again, I thought "when did Michael forget he was black or when did he deny it?"

then I saw Andre 3000 in the audience laughing i was like "c'mon son" lol

They ain't nowhere on richard's level. Money? That is not what I'm talking about. Richard had to fight his ass off to be who he was, had to go through lots and lots of pain to make his personal comedy. There was a time when he was just another innocuous Bill Cosby wannabee, he went away for awhile and the real Richard reemerged. Back then comics had to pay for using that kind of material, there are no battles to speak of anymore. I mean, Lenny Bruce was locked up for his material, different era. Richard also had to do this while fighting his own self-doubts and demons, not an easy feat when everyone is saying you are all wrong to begin with. There is nothing risky or edgy left to do in comedy anymore, so those thinking they are usually just veer off into bad taste. i'll give you an example, after meeting Cedric, I looked him up on youtube, I saw him at Bernie Mac's funeral tastelessly bringing up arguments they had about who was blacker, Steve Harvey shushed him as he should have. Just no fucking compass to speak of, that wasn't Richard.

Well, to be more precise, I meant that the material nowadays is not as classic and edgy, but these comedians nowadays are making more money than back in the day. It's the same with the music industry. I've mentioned the money part. I threw that in. Also, I saw the struggles that Richard Pryor went through with hollywood. He paved the way for today's comedians, and they're inspired by him. BTW, didn't Paul Mooney write material for Richard Pryor as well?

Mooney did and has a great bio out now about his life. I was shocked to hell when Richards' bodyguard told me Mooney raped his own son. Just came out of nowhere. I only asked "does paul take too much credit?" He obviously had some major beef going on with him. Still don't know what to make of that. Mooney always insists that Rich was the best and even got up in Spike Lee's face for having the nerve of naming a film "Kings Of Comedy".

Though I love his voice and moves, I don't know what happens to me but I can't get excited like before though it's all the same, and I'm not over it either. I can't believe what grief has done to me sad It's like another persona took over

he makes me smile sometimes, I wish I could genuinely feel it, I hate being such a downer and coward about this all but it's like my mind is working overtime to run away from how much I love him cause it hurts to admit he is gone, too too much sad

I thought it was wierd for me to be as shaken as I was by Michaels death, I mean, outside of immediate family i've never been affected in that way. I hate hearing of people passing but that was a real shocker. Life is crazy, I see people who've been destroying themselves slowly for year and they still manage to survive, others bump their heads or something and die. Recently, I was really saddened by a young girl who died, I'm not sure if it was drugs or what, but when you see someone full of life it strains logic. Michael had insane life force or charisma, that what makes it seem so impossible.

you're not weird, I'm still grieving and was just crying 20 minutes ago, I switch from doing that to feel apathetic like I don't care though I know this is an illusion to cloud how much I'm really hurting inside but am in shock and denial from, still till this day.

it is wierd but that's ok, I guess I'm really, really a fan. I got furious when I'd see headlines and stories that called him a molestor or crazy. A seattle weekly called him "crazy brains" and made light of his death. That kind of shit immediatelly brings out my own hatred of white people, just makes me feel white people are often the most disrespectful race of people on earth. All the shit that they've done and they are the most judgemental.
