eek

I felt like those songs shouldnt have been included. "In The Back" could have replaced one of them. Seems like every song, MJ was taking his anger out, but those 2 tracks threw off the flow...TO ME

WHY THE HELL was that even on the album? We got it in 88 for Moonwalker, and again in 92 for Remember the Time.

I still scratch my head over that, if I was doing the album sequencing, I'd replace "Come Together" with "Morphine" if he had recorded that in '95 too lol

no, no, NO! It's not that I don't LIKE the records, I just don't think they fit the theme of the HIStory album. I think they throw it off.

Yeah it did...I think they were for another project ("Smile" could've been for DECADE and "Little Susie" was for some musical), it didn't connect with the overall theme of HIStory.

I love morphine , this song was always ignored and overlooked , but now after his death, the song has much more meaning and depth.

maybe MJ released come together to upset paul Mccartney, you know lol

Right. Like, it even brings me back to Human Nature and Carousel

We all know the story of those two records, so in my iTunes, I replaced Human Nature with Carousel and played the Thriller album. Everything flowed...up until Carousel came on and I said "WTF". It threw off the vibe Thriller had.

OK maybe "Smile" fits...lol but I'm thinking "Little Susie" was for something else...it has a feeling of it belonging somewhere else to me.

falloff

I think it fits lol think about it lol the glommy depressing sound of track does not fit with joyful record at all.....

I feel that MJ waited so long to release this track since it was written in 1979 , the depressing ,painful sound of the album history is where this song belongs.

With the weekly reviews of each MJ album that I'm working on I'm in the middle of HiStory (due to publish here on Sunday) and for me the weakest is D.S. in that I don't think it offers anything new and seems to just plod along on the same vibe. I know others will differ, but that's the great part about discussing music.

Yeah we see things differently. I don't think D.S. is weak but I can see why you would think it is. So it's all good.

Dont you love the chorus, and the guitar solo part on D.S ? music , i think it's great.

^^ I think we also have to look at the album as a four sided double album (oldskool).

When you do that - then the last 3 songs sound more cohesive.

Nah, son...his version of Come Together predates the bad album. It was recorded in 1985 during the Puerto Rican Mike phase lol
