After listening to his whole catalog, I can say that he is my favorite MC since Pac (pre Death Row). I am not a hip hop expert, but for what he brings to each album, I can listen to them beginning to end. He samples heavily, but it works with what he does with his material.

Is he cocky, yes, but even without his albums, his work as a producer for Jay Z, Alicia Keys and others is pretty good. As a lyricist, he's not gonna get confused with Rakim, Nas, or Talib, but he does his thing.

My favorite albums/favorite track:

1b) Late Registration--Late, Diamonds from Sierra LEone, Addiction, Heard Em Say, We Major

1c) College Dropout---Two Words, Never Let me Down, Slow Jams, Jesus Walks,All Falls Down

2) 808s and Heartbreak-Welcome to Heartbreak, Paranoid, Robocop

Now once "Good Ass Job" comes out this list will change for sure.

College Dropout and Late Registration is still so far far ahead of what any rapper/producer is doing today its crazy. When I return I will break down each album But I love them all

Not really a huge fan of Kanye's music, even less so in regards to his public persona. But I was hanging with one particular friend a lot after 808s & Heartbreaks was released and we listened to that album a ton! REALLY loud, on a REALLY good system, possibly really NOT sober. At first it drove me nuts, but over time I actually started enjoying it. So I guess I've got to go with that one. I'm mostly just familiar with his singles, otherwise. I've heard all the albums, but not very many times and I don't own them.

With all the Kanye haters on this site...you not going to get many responses. But since I'm a Kanye fan here's my list:

I only liked his first albums. And my favorite songs from them were Through The Wire, Jesus Waks, Diamonds From Sierra Leone, and Touch The Sky.
