Dr. Dre To Release Instrumental Album About Solar System

[img:$uid]http://i33.tinypic.com/e6bosz.jpg[/img:$uid]
August 5, 2010
Dr. Dre has revealed that he is making an instrumental album inspired by the solar system.

The rapper/producer explained that the LP will be "my interpretation of what each planet sounds like".

"An instrumental album is something I've been wanting to do for a long time," Dr. Dre said. "I have the ideas for it. I want to call it The Planets'. I don't even know if I should be saying this, but f**k it. It's just my interpretation of what each planet sounds like."

He added: "I've been studying the planets and learning the personalities of each planet. I've been doing this for about two years now just in my spare time so to speak. I wanna do it in surround sound. It'll have to be in surround sound for Saturn to work."

The release date for the project has yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Dre is also set to release his long-overdue album, Detox, his first full-length studio effort since 1999's 2001.

Originally due out in 2004, the album has been delayed a number of times, with the rapper/producer now admitting it wont be out till 2011.

I'm starting to think Detox is some kind of a sick joke. Year after year it keeps getting pushed back. Another six years is going to pass and we'll still be waiting for this alleged album to come out.

Sounds crazy and weird. But hey, I can´t wait for it, especially since it´s instrumentals.

That picture looks cool.

I´ve been following this dude´s career since the early days of the World Class Wreckin Cru and it´s been an interesting journey with a lot of ups and downs, creatively speaking. But this announcement made me really curious.

That is probably the only thing he can play. In all the time he has been in the music industry he has never been seen playing an instrument.

Do you really blame it on his chronic use? Does he even really smoke that much, or is that just show? Remeber, he used to rap AGAINST smoking weed while he was with NWA (in the song Express Yourself).

Even if he did smoke, I wouldn´t blame his pace on marijuana smoking but other factors, like being rich and no longer hungry, personal tragedies and maybe a lack of focus because of them.

He really does make Michael and Janet look like they had been releasing albums too often... But based on his previous albums/soundtracks whatever I'd still buy whatever he releases (if ever) on the first day

Reel

That album will be released when Suge Knight is dead and stinking.

It is my understanding that Dre is a real musician despite his perceived awkwardness behind the keyboard.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

No keyboard player in the universe plays the way Dre is in this picture.

lol That was the first thing that came to mind for me too. I thought, "Dre is trying to get his "Journey" on.

I won't be holding my breath for that one either. Hell, I love my life.
