JD Fortune back in as INXS frontman Confirmed by Inxs member Kirk Pengilly, JD Fortune, who had been dismissed, or whatever it was that went on, he has since fronted 4 performances for an upcoming world tour and they have started working on a new record. Inxs will also have a tribute cd with guest vocalists on each track doing Inxs classics, Ben Harpers version of "Never Tear Us Apart" has hit the net.. I tend to think that JD Fortune is one of those constantly tortured bohemianesque artists. He "suffers" for his art. I don't necessarily believe he was dismissed, but he had to think that perhaps it wouldn't be forever either. I do think he's talented though, and I enjoyed him greatly on Rock Star.
I hope Terence Trent D'Arby is on that tribute record. He fronted INXS for a show or two, or short time (find the videos on YouTube), and he was fucking spectacular. I'd love to hear him do "New Sensation" or "Suicide Blonde".

I dont think Terence is on the tribute, i heard the Ben Harper track and not feeling it, the soul was totally gone, michael had way more soul, and JD's version too. As for Terence as a one time thing it was cool, but it never would have worked long term, because he would have took over the direction and they are totally not on the same path musically, JD to me, though i fought the idea at first, is perfect to front the band.
Heard an interesting story that i had not heard before. It seems that Rhett, michaels brother, went to a very early performance with JD fronting with another person and the friend had on a shirt that said "Mock Star":Inxs , and Rhett had on a shirt that said "thats not my brother" really childish shit. JD met him later and said "look i dont know you, you dont know me, we're just humans" and Rhett gave him the shirt and apologized. He is extraordinarily lucky that he is getting a second chance and for his sake I hope that he takes better care of his finances this time around. I wonder whatever happened to Death of a Motivational Speaker?
