Chaka Khan To Receive UNCF's Award Of Excellence [img:$uid]http://imgur.com/zQBa7.jpg[/img:$uid]

The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) will honor soul legend Chaka Khan at their 32nd annual Evening of the Stars, set to take place September 25 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.
Khan will be honored with UNCF's Award of Excellence, recognizing her illustrious career as well as the philanthropic contributions of her Chaka Khan Foundation.
As a recipient of the award, Khan joins an elite group of entertainers including Lionel Richie, Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.
Khan herself has been a regular performer at the UNCF Evening of the Stars, at which the group also recoginizes the 60,000 students who go to college each year with the foundation's help.
Tickets for the event will be available through Ticketmaster and the Pasadena Civic Auditorium box office starting on August 13. Fans who act quickly can get a 50 percent discount by using the code "AEOS 2011" at checkout.
The special will also be taped and air on national television in January.

EXCELLENT!!! Chaka Khan deserves more awards! As I said in a recent thread, Chaka's talent and versatility as a songstess are SO-OO under-appreciated IMO! Glad to see she is getting some recognition...
