Anyone Still Listening To Young MC? If so, what stuff since "Bust A Move" do/did you enjoy? I think he has a newer CD out in recent history. Just need some guidance on what you like from his catalog. He's had quite a few CDs out - about a half dozen at this point.

I got his first album back in 1990, and listened to it until it wore out, but nah haven't heard any of his new stuff. I loved the tracks Non Stop and Just say no, along with the hits. Didn't know he was still rapping. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

No. But I saw him performing on something not too long ago and was surprised to see he was still around. Unfortunately he was performing Bust A Move.

Marvin Young (Young MC) was in George Clooney's 2009 movie: "Up In The Air".

He's about to bust out of that shirt.

And to think I used to get a major erection looking at him in his tight jeans in his "Bust A Move" video. Andy is a four letter word.

His jeans are still tight.

So no one has any to add then. Got it.

Dude. You're such a grump. We added plenty. I guess we missed your posting guidelines.

No lol
I only remembered "Bust a Move" from him.
But I do know he had help with Tone Loc's short rise to fame though that I do know. ("Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" were the joints).
I do remember he was trying to put out a "gangsta rap" album like Hammer was around the same time. Hammer did OK but Young MC put out one song I saw on "Rap City", next day I didn't see it anymore.

Actually my question was for music recommendations. Only Huggiebear even remotely added to that.
I'm not a grump, I was looking for opinions on music, not his irrelevant waist size.I was asking for a specific reason and goal I am looking toward. Doesn't matter. I'll find the CDs online and listen myself.

A friend gave me a mix last year sometime with a nice Aaron Lacrate remix of Know How on it.

I thought he was a one-hit wonder. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Hardly. he's had six albums out. He also had a hit with "Principle's Office", which I remember all over MTV and BET back then. I like his flow and his voice (he reminds me of Q-Tip in some ways).

SIX?!?
Wow. Never would'a thought it.
Can you give us some recommendations of his better latest offerings so that we can Youtube it? I'm curious.

A couple years ago my friend (a fan of classic rock music, not concerned with being trendy) asked me "have you heard this Young MC?" I said yes, about 10-15 years ago.
So these three middle aged white guys went out to dinner in a beat up 89 toyota camry and blasted Bust A Move through the crappy stereo (a tape player, by the way).
It was quite a sight in Oakland. My Legacy
