songs & rain

Let's think of songs about rain, songs that contains the sound of rain, or songs that makes you think of rain.

What is/are your favorite(s) and why?

I always had a dream about doing a Time/Life-like music collection that would be sponsored by the Weather Channel called Meteorological Music For The Masses that would span several volumes according to weather conditions like sun, rain, wind, snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, summer, winter, etc. But here's my contributions:

music typing

Looks like someone disabled your Barry Manilow youtube post "We made it through the rain." (I think that's what you had up!?) How could I forget that one or the Carpenter's "Rainy Days and Mondays"? Used to love that as a kid. But, going even further back, how about this one from my first music idol when I was four years old:

cool

Classic soul...what can I say. It definitely hits the heart like you can imagine somebody experiencing that feeling. Plus I heard this song on the radio this afternoon, so that was easy to think of when I saw this thread.

It's just fun, freestyle jam. Nothing deep at all.

"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Songs that contain rain:

Songs that make me think of rain:

Mainly the title of the song is why.

And last, this just gives me a feeling of light rain. I'm not sure why.

I know it may seem like I try to spam songs like this when I post videos, but honestly I'm not. Sorry if anybody thinks so.

Oh and you asked WHY we like them. For me, most of them are really good pieces of work.

No prob for me--I like to hear songs I've either forgotten in a long time or have never heard! That's what these kind of thread are for! Also, to keep the rain away... lol

In The Rain, I totally forgot about that. I'm glad you posted that. One of the songs I posted actually samples In The Rain.

Carl Thomas - Summer Rain SWV - Rain One Me..... (MJ - Stranger In Moscow)

Co-sign except for "Rain On Me."

Stranger In Moscow/Michael Jackson-Haunting, out-of-this-world... Somebody gotta sample the "Lawd have mercy" part, I mean, for rap tunes. God, he went through so much.

Summer Rain/Carl Thomas-Real smooth. Talkin bout daydreaming during summer days. Summer Soft by Stevie Wonder interpolated nicely.

Everyday It Rains/Mary J. Blige-one of the songs that capture the times when you feel depressed while raining outside.

Your Body's Callin (His&Hers remix)/R.Kelly&Aaliyah-makes me think of rain as the backdrop for whatever's going on in this song. Maybe a guy and his girl thinkin of each other while apart. Like, each of 'em sitting in a cafe while the rain is pouring.

Somebody's Somebody/Prince-look what's writtin about Everyday It Rains. Also, "Outside the rain is pourin. I'm lonely as can be." The guitar sound makes me think of humid, wet weather, too.

Let's not forget Teena Marie's "Black Rain" where she actually takes a line from "The Beautiful Ones"

If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

No doubt about this song--when it was raining hard a couple of months ago I posted a thread on this one...

Gospel song that sounds like a ripoff of "Purple Rain":

(on the CD my mom has- I didn't watch the whole video)

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."
