I've always been with the minority on this battle -- Mo' Money. Big fan of both Flyte Tyme and La'Face productions at the time, so I was quite a happy camper when both came out with soundtracks that summer. Boomerang is the obvious choice for better movie. I think the Boomerang soundtrack did better because of the success of the movie. I've always preferred the Mo' Money soundtrack though. Jam and Lewis just have a more mature (and more urban) sound. Face's stuff was moving further and further into the pop market. Flyte Tyme had a fun stable of artists at the time... Janet, Tresvant, Gill, Lo-Key?, Mint Condition, Sounds of Blackness. And even though she wasn't a Flyte Tyme regular, "I adore" Caron Wheeler's voice and that song (and I wish she'd recorded more than two solo albums -- S II S was never the same without her voice). There are definitely some great tracks on that soundtrack -- my favorites being "My Dear," "The New Style," "I Adore You" and "Ice Cream Dream."

Mo Money is the soundtrack but Boomerang is the better film hands down.
Boomerang's only shortcoming is the fact that it tried to portray HALLE BERRY as the supposedly less attractive friend.

A few of us disagree about that part. I think Boomerang was a much better and consistent sountrack. To me, Mo' Money was all over the palce and became damn-near unlistenable toward the end.
The weakest link on Boomerang was the LaFace Allstars song. The rest was really good. Besides, Boomerang had some HUGE hits on it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I agree with you, Prettyman. "Mo Money", was just all over the place and I just could not listen to it. I sitill play "Bomerang", at least one a weekend. I can't say the same for "Mo Money". "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

There were few trax I really liked on Mo' Money. The Best Things In Life Are Free Money Can't Buy You Love Ice Cream Dream Let's Just Run Away and the Mint Condition song that I don't remember right now.
The rest was horrible to me. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I liked the skits/interludes on Mo Money soundtrack

They were just audio clips from the movie:lol:
"Boomerang" is a great film, but the last third of the film just grinds to a halt and it becomes dull. "Mo money" was one of my favs growing up, and I still like it actually. It's dumb and stupid, but the pacing is decent enough and the ending is quite good.
As for the soundtracks, I prefer "Mo' money", though I hate the Jam/Lewis original of "The best things in life are free". The remix (Morales?) was a million times better.
Fav songs off "Boomerang"
"I'd die without you" (best song) "7 day weekend" (yep, I like this one) "Reversal of a dog" "Love shoulda brought you home" (kinda MOR, but its OK)
Favs songs from "Mo' money"
"Ice cream dream" "Money can't buy you love" "Get off my back" (kinda a thowaway, but I like it) "Forever love" "A Job Ain't Nuthin' But Work" "My Dear" (one of my favs) "Let's Just Run Away" (one of my favs)
Am I the only one that likes "Brother will"? Great track. Easily one of my favs LOL.
I use to like the soundtrack alot more as a kid, but its still good now.

Both the soundtracks was hot. Luther & Janet on Mo Money was incredible that alone made me like that one. But I'm not chosing......... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

We talmbout echelons, Eddie Murph was always a bigger star than a freakin' Wayans brother but that's beside the point!

Damon Wayans was pretty huge in the early 90's. Might have been he 2nd biggets black comic behind Eddie at that time (maybe Arsrnio and Damon was the top in stand up as Eddie had retired ... because of cats like Damon actually.) PRINCE: Always and Forever

Okay, after this thread I realized I am in the minority of people who didn't really like Boomerang that much.

I'd go with Mo' Money myself, the track ''A Job Aint Nuthin' But Work'' being my fave cut off the album (although Boomerang was the better movie, I've never heard the soundtrack album to it).

I like Boomerang for Grace Jones and Eartha Kit but that's it. Both films are subpar movies that are time capsules for their time (see Thank God It's Friday, Roller Boogie, Zapped, Breakin' and the likes). Space for sale...
