Damon Albarn and Gorillaz have announced they will be bringing their Escape to Plastic Beach tour to North America this fall. The tour will begin October 3 in Montreal, Canada, then swing across the U.S. and land in Vancouver, Canada, on November 3.

In the process, the semi-animated rockers will play their first headlining show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tickets will begin going on sale on August 6.

Albarn and Co. will be promoting Gorillaz’ third album, Plastic Beach, released earlier this year. The band currently includes a partial reunion of The Clash. Guitarist Mick Jones and bassist Paul Simonon perform as part of the band.

Albarn has promised that some other all-star contributors to Plastic Beach (Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg, Bobby Womack, Mark E. Smith, De La Soul, Mos Def) might appear for some of the performances.

Animator (and Gorillaz co-founder) Jamie Hewlett has designed some new films to play above and behind the performers during the songs.
