I think I read somewhere that Michael specifically asked Rod Temperton to write a song about horror movies,thus this "Starlight" song became "Thriller".

The music was already great. It was the original lyrics that were THE real problem. Seriously, the subject matter is cheesy! Think abut it, what the hell is meaning of "starlight sun"?

Harle you can hear a lot of other demos from Thriller in similar quality now I'm sure it's on YouTube. A lot of fun to check out.

Yeah the lyrics are kinda corny,which is surprising since Rod Temperton was writing some amazing songs during that period.

Wow. In both cases, Starlight and Toto's Human Nature, the versions that ended up on Thriller are huge improvements. It's interesting how much those songs changed from their conception to the final cut.

Ooh, the outro sounds like it was used by Superman Lovers in their song of the same name :3

I have known about this for a while but this is my first time actually hearing it. Obviously Thriller is better but I still like this version. Does anybody know where I can get this version at?
