I am one of those people who always thought that Janet would still be with Jermaine Dupri IF her albums had not flopped. I also think that Janet first started dating Jermaine because he was a producer and she thought that he could produce hit albums for her. However, she DID fall in love with him and would have married him IF he had asked her. Don't forget that in basically every interview, Janet was asked when she and Jermaine were going to get married. Her answer was basically the same everytime. She said that Jermaine had never asked her and that it was left up to him. I am wondering why Janet fans seem to have forgotten that. I know that her fans don't think that Jermaine is attractive enough for Janet; however, Janet really loved him and her family liked him a lot. I think that it is tacky and cruel for anyone to want any harm to come to Jermaine just because he dated Janet. He loved her and she loved him. Every time interviewers asked her about marriage her eyes would get all big, she starts studdering, pulling on her ear and quickly changes the subject. It was clear she was never interested in marriage. All she said was "It's in God's hands" or "We'll see" LOL. Even if her albums were hits she still wouldn't have married him. What difference would it make? She still has more money than him. I disagree, Janet did seem very much in love with Rene before their relationship turned into a business partnership. I'm sure that Janet's personal fortune amounts to well over $150 million, if she has invested her income wisely (and all signs suggest that she has). She has never been profligate.
