Tony Toni Tone is one of my fav groups, but I always though this song was "okay".... one of the weaker ones on thier debut IMO.

I thought this was by far the best song on an otherwise

mediocre album.

It's rumored that the line "things are gettin' crazy,I ain't wearing paisley" was directed at Prince. As you know,Prince was planning to sign Toni Tony Tone to Paisley Park Records but according to one of the members,"He kept frontin'",so they went to another label.

Let's face it....if they had signed to Paisley Park, they would have done one album and faded away (like Mazarati,The Family,Good Question and others).

Really? I like their debut album, especially the songs "Baby Doll","For The Love Of You" and the shoulda-been-a-single "Not Gonna Cry For You".

Of course, their subsequent albums are superior but the debut was a nice beginning.

It was pretty decent for the late 1980s.

Andy is a four letter word.

I didn't care for Baby Doll. It sounded like something New Edition recorded in 1985.

Just too teeny bopperish for me. For the Love of You was decent.

Born Not to Know, Who, and Love Struck were the highlights of the album

for me. Like you said much better was to come. This just isn't an album that i go

back an listen to regularly. I was fortunate to get this cheap on vinyl years ago

for 3 dollars.

Solid debut. Pretty much ushered them in officially. That line is directed at Prince, but I think it's more so a slap at him trying to sign them and then steering their career, which of course would've meant them wearing paisley. Saadiq has proven to be a solid entity in the industry.

You can call me "ROC" for short wink

Yeah same here. but my 3 favs on the album would be 'litle walter',' for the love of you' and 'not gonna cry for you'. oh and 'love struck' was nice too.

i thought it was a cool debut album as well. they had a nice, and unique entrance into the new jack swing game with their own style. unlike many other artists that sounded the same as other artits.

nod you hit the nail right on the head. They should have looked at it (or should look at it now if they don't) as a blessing in disguise.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

That's how I feel too, the other songs on this album were far better than this one. It's a cool song, don't get me wrong, but definitely not one of my favs from them. And the video is extremely corny as hell. It makes me cringe everytime I see it. confused
