BEP Concert Last Night

Just got back from seeing The Black Eyed Peas a few hours ago. First have to say I was SOOOO disappointed with my seats. Got Fan Club Presale tickets day before they went on sale to the public. Expected great seats, and probably the worst seats I have had for any concert. I would be so upset if that happened to me with a Prince concert.

But moving on, show was fun - nothing mind-blowing, but just fun and lots of dancing. Will.i.am is so brilliant - it's always a thrill to be in the presence of brilliance. My friends laughed at me when I yelled his name. Highlights were when he rapped messages that people texted by BBM, and just kept going faster and faster. Also did a DJ spinning set with a whole different mix of songs - MJ, GnR, can't remember the others, but so much fun. Performance of Where is the Love was really nice, whole audience making hearts with their hands.

Fergie's costumes were amazing and she was absolutely gorgeous! Strong confident women are awesome.

hahahahahahahaha BEP are horrible in general. Lackluster songs, dry production, forgetable hooks. Gheez, if anyone is over-hyped, and under-talented, it's these MFers.

Just being honest. Yogamoma isn't in the BEP, so it's not an attack against him/her. It's against the BEP.

So because you disagree, you're going to try and attack me for liking Madonna, and hijack the thread into being a Madonna vs. BEP shit storm? Is that it?

Lame.

What a strange response to my post. Do you need a hug?

Do you? I'm quite alright. I know what I believe, and I stated that.

SoulAlive

Their latest CD 'The E.N.D.' is excellent boxed I hated stuff like "My Humps" but this latest album blew me away.

BEP aren't my thing, but I don't think they suck or even lack talent, particularly. In fact I find them INFINITELY better than the current manufactured, Disneyfied pop "stars" crowding our entertainment lives.

I like that they represent multiple cultures. I like that they use their fame to do a lot of charity work. I like that they don't care what anybody else thinks about them and just keep doin' their own thing (which CLEARLY a lot of people enjoy). I like that Fergi can actually sing (even though I think some of the lyrics she sings are LAUGHABLE! London Bridge? WTH?). I think Wil.I.Am has a great production ear and is a pretty damn good judge of what people are going to be feeling on what passes for commercial radio these days.

That said, I've been listening to them since BEFORE Fergi was part of the group and they've just never really been my thing. Their lyrics have always been simple and sometimes just plain weak (or wack, if you prefer). And their music, even when I like what Wil comes up with, sometimes lacks real substance. It's feels good, but it's easy to throw away. Still, I won't be part of the BEP backlash that just tosses out a "they suck!", or "they're the worst group ever!" Because I don't really believe either of those things. They're OK, but will never be a favorite, for me.

Do they even play this live anymore? I thought they were going someplace back then. But they chose to take it a different direction.
