Harlepolis

I still can't choose between him and EJ from Enchantment as the BEST falsetto singers.

I swear, the minute I heard the wails in Cameo's music, I thought it was a broad, little did I know that it was Wayne Cooper.

Great voice!

P.S. I'm sorry I haven't answered your ?uestion.

Where Wayne passed away is hard to find out though.

I've heard conflicting reports on his death. One says he died in the early 80s in a plane crash, and another says he died of AIDS in 1984. I've yet 2 hear a definite or official story.

Lots of mystery around Wayne Cooper. I never Hear Larry Blackman or any of the guys from Cameo comment about him at all even though he sang on some of thier most popular songs. And what about Wayne's history? With a voice like that he must have been involved in some other things.

Why is this so covered up?

We gonna come on with the come on, gonna get down with the get down!

Can't hear the first video at all really but that's definitely

Tomi Jenkins and Wayne Cooper alternating lead vocals in

the second one.

I've heard the same conflicting reports that mindbells has heard. I'm wondering if he died of AIDS and if the family may have kept it a secret because AIDS was new in those days and there was a whole lot of ignorant fear and shame about it in those days.

I love all of those vocalists (especially Russell, who is probably a close second), but I still stand by my statement.

I have to go with Philip Bailey. He can do what everyone on that list can do and much more.. he has killer range.. cant believe you mentioned Johnny Carter... one of the most under apreciated voices but it always came blazing through on the Dells records.. great list8-)

Here's a relatively unknown, but great falsetto singer, Chris Waller from The Fabulous Waller Family

(Sound quality is crap, but I'm sure you get the general idea)

Great choice but that's not Larry singing lead on this song. lol It's

percussionist Sherman Guy. Larry's singing the ad libs. I don't think

Larry can sing in falsetto.
