Back to the topic question...my answer is no....when Master p was able to use his drug money to aquire his own distribution thru Priority..totally leaving the Major Labels out of it and he got all of the profit....
The game changed and Majors had to play ball...at this time uptempo NO bounce was giving way to "screwed and crunk"...that tempo has been prominent ever since...
But I listen to The Roots,MIA,Outkast,Common etc and THAT type of hip hop is still creative and thus not "ruined"..... |
