Her brother was not with her in the Bahamas. It was the first trip she had ever taken without her family around. Thaat's why a close family friend, Keith I think, was with her instead.

Greed won out over safety. The pilot was incompetent and doing drugs. The plane company did not do their job to insist that the plane was loaded properly. If I go to an airport with 3 bags and only 1 can go on the plane with me, they make me check the other 2 bags. It's not the passengers who should have control over the plane or the pilot's decisions.

Greed over safety! Causes planes to fall out of skies, causes oil to gush out in oceans, causes chronic issues in this world every single day. This is why people should work on honesty and insisting on doing their jobs properly. The customer is NOT always right!!

I read that the Airline settled out of court for the wrongful death case and admitted that Aaliyah was unaware of the weight issues. It was disgusting how immediately after the crash the airline tried to paint Aaliyah and her staff as divas, they quickly shut up when the autopsy of the pilot was released though.

sad I heard the pilot had cocaine in his system. I remember when it happened and how a friend of my kept blaming Aaliyah for being a diva because she believed the bullshit story put out by the charter company. I just looked at her and wanted to punch her in the mouth for saying that. Why would they have knowingly jeopardized their lives for some damn luggage? They wouldn't have; nobody would. The charter company didn't paint them out to be just divas when they made that statement; they made them seem stupid too. No diva would be willing to die for their Louis Viutton suitcases and it was insulting for that stupid company to imply such a thing. Irresponsibility killed a group of innocent people...totally preventable tragedy that no amount of money will ever fix for these individual's families and friends and for all of Aaliyah's fans who miss her everyday and still wonder what would have been. Angels are never owned; only borrowed. cry
