Carlos Santana is engaged

I was at the Santana concert last night and he brought a woman on stage and introduced her as his future wife. I was very surprised to learn that it was Cindy Blackman - former drummer for Lenny Kravitz. They will marry very soon. She played a little but just for a few minutes. Needless to say, Carlos and his band were awesome as always. What an uplifting concert! Just great music and postive vibes.

I had the pleasure of seeing Santana for the first time last week at an outdoor concert in Ohio. Lawd what a concert!!! Real musicians. He is treacherous with those geetars and quite the gentleman. All the best to him and the soon to be Mrs. headbang

Engaged! What the heck happened to his wife that he was married to for decades?! When did they get divorced?! I sure must have been out of the loop as far as Santana is concerned! The last I heard, he was helping his wife promote the book that she had written and they talked about how they worked so hard to keep their marriage strong and how important it was to them! What the heck happened?! eek

They got divorced a few years ago.

Here’s one way to make a drum solo even more awesome: by proposing marriage to the drummer right afterward. That’s what Carlos Santana did last Friday at a concert in Tinley Park, Ill., according to a press release. The guitar hero popped the question four songs into his set when noted drummer Cindy Blackman finished her spotlight moment in his song “Corazon Espinado.” She said yes.
