Raheem DeVaughn - I would Die 4 U I did a search and couldn't find it, please forgive me if this is a repeat.
Raheem DeVaughn has re-made IWD4U.
I am not sure about posting a link and if it is permitted, but if you check out Essence.com you can listen to a copy of it as they have it streaming on their site. I am not sure how I feel about it yet. Because of their half-baked mistakes, we get ice cream, no cake; all lies, no truth; is it fair to Kill the YOUTH ~~ Party Up

I'd never heard this until now. It's definitely one of the better Prince covers I've ever heard. I'm still holding Esperanza Spalding's "If I Was Your Girlfriend" at the top. but Raheem is in the top 5 at this point. I like the live band feel to it. Even though Prince's version is a live cut, the overdubs and polished feel makes it a bit colder. This sounds like someone from the 60's wrote and performed it. It's really good.
