He's no Rakim, but I think he's talented. I think he's a breath of fresh air as far as the rap scene with its tired ass wannabe thugs. I'm sure that a part of the hype was because he's different from what we're used to seeing and hearing in rap nowadays.

I'll take "Things we knew from birth for $1000, Alex" lol.

I rather like Drake. He's a bit wussy, but I'd smash the homie. Plus I'd rather listen (and look) at him over Lil Wayne or Nicki Minaj.

In fact Nicki Minaj irks me way more than Drake as far as no lyrical skills and no talent and no appeal whatsoever.

I truly agree with the bold. Oh, and I'd smash the fuck out of Nicki Gar-bahj. lol

He DOES sound super ordinary and generic, just like many mainstream acts in all genres right now.

The industry has been favouring style over substance for too long, with the result being every mainstream performer sounding pretty much exactly the same as other performers in their field.

And still, the music industry wants to blame lagging record and ticket sales on internet downloading.... rolleyes

They refuse to accept that their loss in revenue is their own damned fault. Nobody with even an ounce of taste or knowledge about music wants to listen to the bland Wonder Bread that is modern mainstream. Flashy videos and a semi-interesting public persona do not make up for boring sounds.

He was created by his record label.

I dont like the manufactured sound of his music along with his 'backstreet boy that raps' image.

As a lyricist he is very overrated, his flow isnt very versatile either.

His music is aimed towards women and a woman I am not.

lol Please.

I could get into how wrong that statement is, not in defense of Drake but in defense of Backstreet Boys, but this is not the thread for that. Needless to say, they'd wipe their asses with Drake.

I am not a fan. disbelief His voice, look, and lyrics do nothing for me. I'll take Bow Wow over some dang Drake, lol.

eek oh snap! that's cold...

Bow Wow may write/rap extremely lame lyrics now, but because I prefer the tone of his adult voice FAR more than Drake's, Bow's current songs are more tolerable to listen to than Drake's to me. shrug There's just too much hype around Drake that I don't agree with.

Drake's a scrub. He needs to take his wackass lyrics back to that wackass tv show he was on. He and Nicky Mi-gar-bahj needs to leave the industry. Forever.

Is Drake a singer too? It seems like everytime I see him, I see him singing, unless that's rapping and I'm not in the loop. I don't know what to make of Drake. He seems ok but not the 2nd coming or anything like that.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
