Yup... gotta go with "Thriller" 2.

From the intro 2 the end...it's pure 80's genius at work. Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson picked the songs that made the whole world sing, dance and moonwalk in2 the record books.

"Wanna Be Startin' Something", "Lady In My Life", "Human Nature", "Beat It", "Billie Jean", "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)", "The Girl Is Mine", etc... it's a never ending EARgasm...it made me dance all year.

It has yet 2 b dethroned as the greatest pop album in the history of music...and it made Michael Jackson, the true "King Of Pop".

'Nuff said.

Let me officially cast my vote for "1999" even though the reason will have to wait until tomorrow.

Uh..."The Lady In My Life" is NOT a bad song,it's one of the best MJ songs ever.What are y'all smokin?!

But,if I had to pick only one album to be the greatest album of all-time,I would choose Stevie Wonder's 'Songs In The Key Of Life'(1976).It's a mind-blowing album from start to finish.It's one of the few 2-record sets where I love EVERY song.I can't say enough good things about this album.


Actually,I came VERY close to choosing Stevie's 'Innervisions' album (1973).With Stevie,it's hard to choose!

I have 2 back u up on this one 2... Therefore, I gotta make it a tie.

guys i just keep coming back to hendrix: the jimi hendrix Experience...it's just so tight and fuelled with incredible power--and his rhythm section (redding-mitchell) were instrumental GODS of their time.

Don't need no silly tricks to make it sound and true.
Plays beautiful from beginning to end.
But that's my mood today...
Most albums in my collection are chosen on the criterium that it has to be good front to back, no need for skipping.
No MJ album (yet) and Kate Bush's The Kick Inside is great too.

Tends to get overlooked...there's a real
backlash against this album when it comes
time to list it amoung the best ever, even
amoung Prince fans! This is the best

'Thriller' again.

Changed my life and shaped what kind of music i listen to now.never get bored of it ever.Bought it multiple times due to wear and tear.

tracks 4,5 and 6 is just masterful sequencing, never bettered IMO. i love everything about it, always will.

...and Billie Jean may be the greatest single of all time too!

It may sound trite, but Sign O The Times is way up there. In fact, its my personal fave. The album is damn-near flawless. I would also have to include the following albums (in no particular order)

Those three albums I never felt like hitting the skip button for any song.

the ramones' first album is on my "greatest" list.

This is a tough one for me. There are so many albums I love all the way through. I have a hard time picking just one. But my top 3 are all for different reasons. I'll try to make sense of this.

Past: Prince Lovesexy

My all-time favorite album. The one that's held a high spot for the longest time. Before that it was Sign "O" the Times. It holds a lot of meaning for me. It was the first Prince album I owned as a fan and it became my favorite at a very creative and enlightened time in my life.

Present: Bowie Low

My current favorite album. I'm just blown away every time I hear this. No one's ever made a record this visionary. There's a lot of musical significance for me with this album. It describes my style to a 'T' and it's the one that got me playing and learning guitar again.

Future: Bjork Vespertine

I can see this taking over my #1 spot someday. It came out at a very emotional time in my life and it felt like the album I had been waiting my whole life for. I can't see her ever topping this one, but she just keeps getting better and better. So we'll see I guess.

How could I forget my home town boys?
