HELP! I GOT TRAPPED AT A BACKSTREET BOYS CONCERT! I know there is a lot of love for Backstreet Boys on this org. I didn't care for them at their prime. I recently went to a Gay Pride festival and I stopped to hear Martha Davis from The Motels sing and then I tried to leave but I found I was bound around by Backstreet Boys fans and I had to wait until the Backstreet Boys were through performing. What really amazed me were that most of the fans there were at least ten years younger than the youngest Backstreet Boy! They must have been kids when the Backstreet Boys were in their prime! My son's age and younger! And they knew all the lyrics! I was enthused by the energy of the crowd but I didn't get the Backstreet Boys then, and I am not moved by them now. But the crowd was terrific--especially after they started to part to allow me to leave! Much love to the fans, but I still am not moved by the Backstreet Boys--who will soon be called "Old Men On The Street Corner!" :lol

Sporty Spice performed at PRIDE 2 years ago here, aw the days when they were teeny bopper bands. I was a teenager too when BSB were huge and though their songs were catchy, I was NOT nuts for them at all or going crazy though I had friends who were crazy for them. To me all their songs sounded the same to me with no creativity but the melodies and voices were good and when I hear the songs now I miss being young though I don't consider them real artists. I will say though that The Call is their best song and I can play that one on repeat. I also had the Backstreet's Back album (in Canada that's what it was called, in the US it was their first album) cause Columbia House sent it to me without my permission and it had a few decent cuts like If You Want It To Be Good Girl Get Yourself a Bad Boy which I loved so much cause it made me think of MJ and Prince a LOT!
But back to your topic, that makes me think of teenagers today knowing all the words to spice girls that time too cause I saw little kids who all loved them back then so it's likely they listened to bsb alongside them.

I was in love with AJ when I was 8. I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

They had some great pop songs back then and a few still stand up now. I own their albums up to "black and blue", but havn't got any of their more recent stuff. Max Martin and his crew were doing it back then LOL.

I cant say anything bad about Max Martin and his skill, he worked with a-Ha on the song "Analogue" and got them a Top 5 hit in the UK, and YET didnt make them sound like a bunch of sell outs, u cant even tell its his production. thats the mark of a good producer "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Even though Max only co-wrote it (his cronies produced it), I loved the lite rock sound of Def Leppards wannabe hit "Unbelieveable" from their hated on "X" album. (i really like the album. Leppard have always bee shameless when it comes to being commercial and I thought it really worked for them on that album).
I noticed the BSB must of been listening as I remember one of their later singles sounded somewhat like "Unbelieveable".
