You are OLD! SWV is lame | |

That's a rerun from like April or May but I'm excited for their return as well.

First off, you need to sit down before someone sits your self down. Old is relative, and your attempts to attack me are falling on deaf ears all around. It makes you look ridiculous, too. I mean, what are you, like 16 or something?
SWV are wonderful women, and still have incredible voices. They, like me with you, have realized the foolishness that was around them, and chose to rise above it, and continue on with positive vibes.
Until we see your butt on a TV show singing songs that could knock a hole in a wall, be quiet. No one is going to steal your crayons, so stop being a brat. You think you're cool and hip and you're bonding w/ the other fools on here, but it just makes folks realize you're in a pack of idiots. You don't want that, do you?

I missed it. It's awesome to see this, and hear them again. They sound just like they did back then. Truly talented. Coco is fierce!

I really didn't know they had so much personal drama behind the scenes until I saw them on the show it was definitely a shock to me.

I agree. Although part of me wasn't surprised. Unfortunately, it's a common story of turmoil, which is sometimes caused by the very people there to take care of them whether it's lawyers, managers, or whatever. It's so counter-productive. Why break up a group, when it's more financially and emotionally sensible to keep them together. If it ain't broke, why is someone trying to break it? Amazing, really. We hear it over and over. I'm glad they rose above the foolishness and mayheim, and are back doing their thing. They are awesome.

I too am excited for their return. I need to read up as to when an album is due out, etc.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Until the album comes... I ain't believing it lol
And if it does, I expect late 2010 or sometime in 2011, they have to have a plan right?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, wikipedia says their 5th album is due 2010. They do have a plan.
I found this also; I guess the MoNique show appearance was earlier than everyone thought:
SWV appeared on The Mo'Nique Show, February 2, 2010, performing Patti LaBelle's "If Only You Knew". Lelee and Coko provided the lead vocals.

I've always liked SWV and it would be great if the get it together and start making music again. Was it SWV or Brownstone that was on MJ's defunct record label? Along with some other issues I think it played a part why the group dissolved.

Brownstone | |

knew it was of them. Thanks

No problem. Was Brownstone the only act signed to Michael's label?
But back the girls, SWV. They were one of my favorite groups from the 90's. Their first couple of records (Especially "It's About Time") had mad hits. Just about everything on that debut joint was hot. I don't remember who produced it but I don't recall a bad song on it. I'll still take the original version of "Anything" over the remix. Remix was hot but the beauty and simplicity of their voices on the original always did it for me.

Brownstone was fierce, I loved them back in the day!!! Oh the soundtrack to my middle school years... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm happy to see them perform whenever they have the chance. I love those ladies.
As far as their album? *HEAVY SIGH* The talk of their comeback album was way back since 2005, LeLe & Taj are game, but Coko's indecisive ass keeps blocking this from happening. One minute "there'll be no a SWV project anytime soon, we're passed that" and the 2nd " An SWV project is really inevitable". I had my heart set on it 5 years ago when it seemed like they were enthusiastic about it, but now,,,,,,
And yes, they have been through crucial changes. Sister2Sister made this interview with LeLe couple of years ago, it was a heartbreaking thing to read. I'm glad she overcame that chapter of her life.

I liked both the original version and remix of "Anything" but I do agree that the original version is a rare gem. "Right Here" was and still is my shit though I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Do you hear yourself talk? I mean, does that sound grown up of you? Do you think you're cool making a fat joke? As if being fat is a bad thing? I'm not ashamed of myself, whatever my size might be, my hair, or how close I trim my fingernails. See, when I am cool with myself, your words become like a fart in the wind. Here and gone before you know it.

Didn't they all get screwed over on royalties? Maybe not Taj because she actually co-wrote Right Here. But LeeLee got screwed and ended up working as an accountant or something after getting her associates degree. Coko seems to be doing fine though. Her voice sure hasn't changed! Those are acne scars and they're very painful to live with for those of us who have them. How would you like to walk around with scars all over your face and have them be the first thing people notice about you? It's hard and there isn't much you can do about them. Besides, Ernest could weigh 600 lbs and he'd still be cool as fuck. "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

If the group is getting back together, I guess Coco finally woke up. She is NOT going to be a famous solo star. The group was more successful. I hope she understands now.

I think she got the memo in 2000.

I see no point in SWV now. They had their time in the spotlight, however brief. There are so many other great artists out there making music that it seems silly to me to focus attention on a group that is more than fifteen years past their prime. Their lack of longevity has a lot to do with why I have this opinion.
