new Hootie & the Blowfish cd March 4 Hootie and the Blowfish have finished their first new studio album in four-and-a-half-years. The self-titled set, largely produced by Don Was, arrives March 4 via Atlantic and will be preceded by the single "Innocence," due to hit U.S. radio outlets on Feb. 10. The album is the follow-up to 1998's "Musical Chairs," which debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 810,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
In the time since, the group issued the 2000 odds-and-ends collection "Scattered, Smothered and Covered," while frontman Darius Rucker completed a 2002 solo album, "Back to Then," for Hidden Beach Records. Hootie and the Blowfish rose from total obscurity to international success with their 1994 debut, "Cracked Rear View." The set, which featured the top-10 Billboard Hot 100 hits "Let Her Cry," "Hold My Hand," and "Only Wanna Be With You," has sold 10 million copies in the U.S. to date. ---------------------------------

They will be back. If the TRL children grow up and listen to some good music they will chart. If not, they will become like Prince, non existant ---------------------------------

With Hootie it all depends on how catchy their album's first single is... | |
